Queensland Entices With 'That Holiday Feeling Starts Here'

Tourism and Events Queensland

Tourism and Events Queensland launches high-impact campaign to entice travellers to the home of the holiday this winter.

•    That Holiday Feeling Starts Here meets current demand for easy, reliable, and great value holidays.

•    Major partners Qantas Group, Booking.com and Flight Centre Travel Group to deliver great deals and compelling offers across flights, accommodation, car hire and holiday packages.

Queensland is calling on Australians to take the guesswork out of holiday planning this winter with the launch of That Holiday Feeling Starts Here, at a time when visitation is critical to tourism businesses across the state.

As colder conditions settle across much of the country, Queensland enters one of its strongest travel periods, offering warm weather with a sunny vibe, and a breadth of incredible experiences right across the state.

Tourism and Events Queensland's latest campaign builds on the That Holiday Feeling platform, with a sharper focus on helping Aussies move from thinking about a holiday to locking it in, as travel decisions are made more carefully and value is front of mind.

That Holiday Feeling Starts Here puts a clear choice in front of travellers, giving them confidence to plan, access to great deals and the reassurance of choosing a destination that delivers from the moment they arrive.

Launching nationally from 25 May, the campaign showcases experiences across all 13 tourism regions, highlighting both Queensland's iconic destinations and short break and regional travel options, while supporting operators and communities during a key travel period.

The campaign is supported by high-impact partnerships with QANTAS, Qantas Hotels and Holidays, Jetstar, Booking.com and Flight Centre Travel Group, delivering value-led offers across flights, accommodation, car hire and holiday packages, giving travellers even more compelling reasons to book a Queensland winter escape.

Delivered through a national integrated rollout, That Holiday Feeling Starts Here will feature across broadcast, digital, social and out-of-home channels, showcasing holidays Australians can plan and book now for the winter period.

Tourism and Events Queensland CEO Craig Davidson said Queensland stood out as an enviable holiday destination as the country moves into winter.

“This is a massive shot in the arm for Queensland tourism, providing a significant boost for the industry at a challenging time.

“While colder weather sets in elsewhere, Queensland absolutely shines with warm days, bright skies and an array of incredible experiences from the coast to the outback.

That Holiday Feeling Starts Here reflects exactly what we offer. Queensland is easy to get to, easy to plan, and a place where you can step straight into a holiday from the moment you arrive.

“In the current environment, that combination matters. People are looking for certainty, value and experiences that deliver, and Queensland offers all three, while supporting tourism businesses right across the state.”

Minister Andrew Powell said the campaign was about backing Queensland businesses, driving visitation across the State and continuing the momentum of Destination 2045.

“Queensland is the home of the holiday, and there is no better place to be this winter,” Minister Powell said.

“From our beaches to the bush, our reef to the rainforest, Queensland offers experiences you simply cannot get anywhere else.

“We want Australians to book the trip, take the flight, hit the road and come and experience everything Queensland has to offer.

“This campaign is about giving people another reason to choose Queensland, while supporting local operators, local jobs and local communities right across the State.”

Assistant Minister Bree James said the campaign was about backing Queensland businesses and making sure more communities shared in the benefits of a growing visitor economy.

“Tourism supports jobs in every part of Queensland, from our regional towns through to our tourism hotspots, and we want to see more visitors choosing a Queensland holiday,” Assistant Minister James said.

“This campaign is about turning interest into bookings and bookings into stronger local economies.

“We are delivering Destination 2045 to grow the industry for the long term and send a clear message that Queensland is open for business and ready to welcome visitors.

“There has never been a better time to book a Queensland holiday and experience why we are the home of the holiday.”
