Carnival season tour will include two huge parades, a masked ball and more, Feb. 24-27, 2017
SHREVEPORT, LA – The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau is seeking qualified applicants to take part in an upcoming media familiarization trip, Feb. 24-27, 2017. This festive, Mardi Gras-themed tour will include the Krewe of Gemini Parade on Saturday, Feb. 25 and the Krewe of Highland Parade on Sunday, Feb. 26, as well as a Mardi Gras mask-making workshop, the Krewe of Highland's Grand Bal and more. Food and drink stops along the way will include authentic Louisiana po' boys, drive-thru daiquiris and traditional Cajun boudin.
Costs of travel, accommodations and meals will be covered for all journalists who are invited to take part in this tour. Participating journalists will arrive on the morning of Friday, Feb. 24 and depart on Monday, Feb. 27. In an effort to make this tour as effective and enjoyable as possible, a maximum of four journalists will be invited to participate. The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau is especially interested in identifying travel writers, bloggers and content creators with a regional readership base in metropolitan areas with direct flights into Shreveport, including Atlanta, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Denver and Houston.
