QT Hotels & Resorts

QT Gold Coast are excited to announce their very first Valentine's Day Pop-Up Wedding series. For the ultimate in pop-up wedding surprises, QT Gold Coast has combined forces with Gold Coast Pop-Up Weddings to bring you a seriously fun and affordable mini wedding on the most loved-up day of the year.

Set on the QT Gold Coast's magnificent outdoor Calypso Terrace, featuring astro turf, wooden decking and vibrant garden furniture, guests will be ready to tie the knot in designer flair.

The first Valentine's Day Pop-Up wedding off the rank is for 'Steve and Mady'. These lovebirds are the kind of couple you want to be friends with. They are fun, social, love to party, and are ahead of the curve when it comes to style.

“Steve and I are super busy people. We both work in the entertainment industry in Sydney and have very little time for ourselves. We've also got a little daughter who we want to spend every minute we can with. This meant that when we were planning our wedding there were a very select set of criteria.

Firstly we needed it to be a resort near the beach – no such thing as a holiday without the beach! Secondly there had to be a designer element to the resort – we wanted the place to form the natural backdrop for the wedding pics. Thirdly – because we wanted it to be a wedding and a holiday all rolled up into one, we needed to go to a place that our family would be cool with travelling to.

We were knee deep in brochures and Pinterest boards when we saw the blog post go up on the QT Gold Coast website about the Valentine's Day Pop Up Weddings. We love QT and the Gold Coast, so everything just fell into place! Steve proposed to me on Valentine's Day last year, so there's also a really special significance to this date”, says bride-to-be, Mady.

The term 'pop-up wedding' isn't a new sensation, in fact it's a popular wedding trend worldwide. It's most recognisable in the form of a Las Vegas style wedding where couples can marry on a whim in pop-up chapels with two witnesses or a handful of guests.

It's a little different here in Australia because couples must give 30 day's notice of their intent to marry but the concept is taking off.

The average cost of a wedding in Australia is now between $36,000 and $48,000 and there are couples out there who want to keep their wallets in check. Traditional weddings also take up a good portion of the day but pop-up weddings offer something that's quick, easy and stress-free.

QT Gold Coast's one-hour Valentines Pop-Up Wedding Package is priced at $1,850 and includes:

*
The PackageOfficial wedding ceremony with Celebrant Bree Nicholls from Be Weddings & Events;
