Qantas Upgrades Hobart Qantas Club

Qantas

Qantas is upgrading its Qantas Club at Hobart Airport to provide some additional seating for customers visiting the busy airport lounge.

As part of the upgrade, the Club's business centre will be removed, creating an open space for some additional seating. A new buffet will also be constructed and a sandwich press will be introduced to enhance the club's existing menu.

Qantas Regional Manager for Tasmania Stephen Farquer said customers who regularly use the lounge will welcome the availability of extra seats, especially at peak times.

“Over the summer months we've introduced an extra 78 flights to Hobart thanks to an increased demand for our services.

“This refresh will be very much welcomed by customers who have been asking for more seats in our Hobart lounge.”

Although the business centre will be removed as part of the lounge refresh, a workstation will be constructed so customers can continue to have access to a Qantas provided computer and printer.

The lounge will be closed on 9 February and is expected to reopen just four days later on 13 February. Once completed the Hobart Qantas Club will be able to host 95 customers.

From 8 March QantasLink will operate a total of 46 return services per week from Hobart to Sydney and Melbourne, up from 35 services currently.

The additional 11 return services per week add an extra 2,420 seats to-and-from Hobart on our two-class Boeing 717 jet aircraft and are in response to market demand – both in terms of overall capacity and time of day.
