Qantas has announced a new Melbourne-Sydney discount fare special of $36.30 one way in response to Impulse Airlines weekend announcement of a range of east coast discounted fares.

Like Impulse's $37 Sydney-Melbourne offer, the Qantas fare is only available when booked over the Internet via the airline's website.
