Put Some Spring in Your Skiing With New and Unique Late-Season Trips from Ski Club Freshtracks and Mountain Tracks

Ski Club of Great Britain

Ski Club Freshtracks and Mountain Tracks offer an exciting range of spring skiing options to ensure skiers can make the most of the mountain up until the very last lift. While many tour operators call it a season by mid April, Ski Club Freshtracks and Mountain Tracks continue until May, providing ample opportunity to make the most of the late season snow. Despite spring-like skiing in the Alps the snow has been falling regularly and the winter is not over yet.

Freshtracks and Mountain Tracks have added to their programmes to accommodate the interest in late-season skiing. With a new trip option in high altitude Val Thorens, an Easter weekend in La Grave, May bank holiday adventures in Tignes and Zermatt and even a 10-day ski tour in Russia, keen skiers can still hit the snow this winter.

Here are the Ski Club's recommended ways to get a late-season snow fix:

New Val Thorens Spring Ski Week for Peak Experience
You can always count on high altitude Val Thorens to have fantastic piste conditions all season. While Val Thorens itself is open until the beginning of May, the final week to ski the Three Valleys and its 600km of pistes is 15th April. This new Ski Club Freshtracks Peak Experience holiday is focused on developing ski technique and includes five days skiing with top instructors. Angled at the over 55s the holiday has been introduced to cater for the ever-increasing demand from older skiers.

Ski Club Freshtracks 'Val Thorens Spring Ski Week' costs £1250 per person and includes seven nights half board accommodation in the 3* Hotel Le Sherpa (based on twin share), return scheduled flights, airport transfers, 5 days with instructors and the services of a Ski Club Leader. Departs Saturday 15th April 2017.

Ski La Grave while it's still wild on an Easter Off Piste Weekend
The future of La Grave as one of Europe's top off piste adventure hubs could become uncertain when the lease on the gondola comes up for renewal in June. This is an opportunity to ski La Grave with the best local mountain guides while it's still an untamed off piste Mecca.

Ski Club Freshtracks 'La Grave Easter Off Piste weekend' costs £850 per person and includes four nights half board accommodation in the 3 * hotel Auberge Edelweiss (based on twin share), return scheduled flights, airport transfers, three days with mountain guides and the services of a Ski Club Leader. Departs 13th April 2017.

Take May bank holiday to new heights in Tignes
This hugely popular 'Last Blast' holiday in Tignes is ideal for skiers to get their final fix before hanging up their skis for the summer. Open to all levels of skier from early intermediate right up to expert the trip makes the most of Tignes glacier and its consistently excellent snow record.

Ski Club Freshtracks 'Bank Holiday Blast' costs £750 per person and includes four nights B&B accommodation in the 3 * Ski Lodge Aigle (based on twin share), return flights, airport transfers, four full days with instructors and the services of a Ski Club Leader. Departs 27th April 2017.

Or try Zermatt for some End of Season Off Piste,
The last Ski Club Freshtrack's holiday of the winter season heads to the snowy slopes of Zermatt. Accompanied by top mountain guide Klaus Tscherrig, skiers will discover the best of Zermatt's off piste terrain, hidden powder fields and gullies. There's also the potential to go heli skiing on the last day.

Ski Club Freshtracks 'End of Season Off Piste' holiday costs £750 per person and includes four nights B&B accommodation in the 3* hotel Jagerhof (based on twin share), Swiss Rail transfer ticket, three days with mountain guides and the services of a Ski Club Leader. Trip departs 27 April 2017.

End of season Mountain Tracks – for those looking to take their skiing further

Mountain Tracks are a small, friendly team of dedicated professionals specialising in guided mountain adventure.

Those looking to explore further on skis can embark on a hut-to-hut Monterosa Summit Ski Tour with Mountain Tracks and find some of the best ski touring conditions in May. The Monterosa range lies above Zermatt in Switzerland. The area has more 4000m peaks than anywhere else in the Alps and some of the wildest glaciers. Combined this with the seemingly endless vertical descent of each ski run and you'll discover a ski-touring favourite.

The eight-day Monterosa ski tour costs £1595 and includes six full days with mountain guides, two nights B&B hotel accommodation (based on twin share) and five nights half board accommodation in high alpine huts. Trip departs 29th April 2017. This is a demanding advanced level tour where good ski mountaineering skills are essential.

Embrace the wilderness on a New Elbrus Ski Tour in Russia
This 10-day ski expedition into the heart of the mighty Caucasus Range takes skiers into the wild. Nestled between the Caspian and the Black Sea, the surroundings are majestic and virtually undeveloped. Snow conditions are usually excellent in April and May and the trip combines some breath-taking ski touring with the possibility of an ascent of the highest summit in Europe, Mt. Elbrus (5642m).

The new Mountain Tracks Elbrus Ski Tour in Russia costs from £2295 per person and includes all accommodation (except in Moscow if required), all meals (except in Moscow), all guide fees and expenses, all uplift costs and local travel and transfers. The price does not include flights, accommodation in Moscow (if required), equipment hire, or visa fees. Trip departs 6th May 2017.
