Social Media Tourism Symposium adds to an incredible roster of speakers
#SoMeT14AU has added to its incredible list of speakers, and will welcome to Australia the world's top destination and digital marketing experts. #SoMeT14AU will be held in the Barossa Valley on 16-17 July, 2014 and will feature the following industry leaders:
Hans Petter Aalmo, Head of Web and Mobile at Innovation Norway, will discuss their lauded campaigns, including “Scream” and the 2012 Webby Award-winning 360, where visitors control their view of fjords and countryside.
Chad Wiebesick, Director of Social Media and Interactive Marketing from Michigan Economic Development Corporation, will discuss how multiple-award-winning Michigan became one of the most respected social destinations in the world.
Matt Bron, Destination Director at Tourism and Events Queensland, will speak to their successful Outback Promise initiative, while TEQ Digital Content Specialist Kaylah Buckman will showcase the “Surprise & Delight” project.
Phil Sandford, Brand Manager, South Australian Tourism Commission will present on the “Through Local Eyes” film campaign; Michael Hauser, Digital Marketing Manager, Tourism Victoria will share secrets behind Remote Control Tourist, Joanne Motta, Manager - Australia & New Zealand, Destination British Columbia, will talk about the Aussies Love BC Facebook page, and Petrhyce Donovan, Tourism Officer, Sutherland Shire Council, will share insights on how small destinations with small budgets can use social. Dave Schiene, Director of Yelp Australia, and Sarah Matthews, Destination Marketing Senior Sales Manager for TripAdvisor, will also present.
