DCOR: Water and cactus dominate design elements. Two natural elements in opposition and yet in harmony, they are the yin and yang of this arid Mexican paradise set against a deep blue sea.
The tone of this new hotel represents luxury without indulgence.
Pacifica will feature over 35,000 cactus plants representing more than 400 varieties, many of which are endangered species and only rarely seen.
An ochre and sand colored exterior with varnished slatted cedar pergolas shading ocean-view terraces. There are ocean views from every exposure. Eight fountains lined by an extraordinary array of cacti welcome visitors to a manicured circular motorcourt. From the porte cochre, visitors enter a temple of rest and relaxation. Outdoor corridors flanked by reflecting pools, cactus gardens and large paneless windows framing gardens and sea, lead guests to the reception hall.
The omnipresent blue agave is Pacificas signature plant.
Public spaces are resplendent with meditative reflecting pools and soothing water walls.
A central pink marble dome focuses the eye on clear blue skies at the apex above the lobby. Flooring is cool, white, shiny, and textured- reminiscent of sand. Indigenous, polished, uniform pebbles border corridors and direct feet toward the restful guestrooms that await guests.
Guest accommodations are concise and minimally dressed, with tasteful panels of sand and ivory window treatments, contoured valences forming a smooth, clean visual transition from bed to sea. Onyx is prevalent in both the stylish bathroom and inlaid panel of the guestroom door. A cedar and straw armoire houses the appurtenances of the modern age, including On Command Video and television and high - speed Internet access. Rooms will have ocean views, terraces, cactus blooms, incense, and Zen-inspired amenities. RESTAURANTS/BARS: A unique signature restaurant, Siempre, features continuous dining, market fresh ingredients, and both a wellness-oriented spa menu and a splurge menu to satisfy the urge for sweets. The hotel will operate 24-hour room service, Aire, a pool bar, and two additional cafes & bars. One will serve healthy juices and energy small plates called Jugos, the other will offer the traditional cheer that is Refresca. A separate cigar lounge, Humo, provides comfortable seating. Guests may also reserve tables at the restaurants of neighboring Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach.
SPA/FITNESS: Armonia, the hotels full-scale fitness facility and spa, will feature an exercise studio with state of the art exercise equipment, plus a luxurious mens and womens spa facility. There will be six treatment rooms, plus a VIP couples treatment chamber, indoor jacuzzi, steam, sauna, cold plunge, Swiss shower room, and on-site trained, certified therapists.
The spa and fitness facilities will be personally overseen by Dr. Alejandro Santander, resort general manager and sports medicine practicing physician.
The unique appointment of a youthful medical doctor is in keeping with the lifestyle philosophy of the hotel owner. Upon arrival, guests will meet with a trained wellness specialist who will plan their treatment path: relaxation, wellness, or fitness.
Pacifica signature treatments are based upon cactus derivatives. A unique menu of services is currently under development by Corporate Spa Director Mizraim Corpus.
The setting, the dcor, the facilities, and the high level of staff training will coalesce to offer visitors a sumptuous and serene respite from daily life.
ART: Two principal artists have been commissioned to create friezes, frescos, sculpture, and paintings to accentuate the sleek, contemporary and clean lines of the new structure. Ian Hendrix, Dutch-born resident of Mexico City, designs the spa art. The womens salons are all white-tiled and the mens salons are black. Mary Stuarts creative inlaid sculpture adorns the entryway, with four wall panel depictions of the four seasons artfully crafted from broken black clay vases. Fine art is sparingly and tastefully placed throughout the hotel.
MEETINGS: One large meeting room, Ideas, divisible into three rooms with total capacity for 200 persons for theatre or banquet style events
VIP HOSPITALITY: VIP guests will be met at the international airport by Pacifica staff in the resorts signature vehicle, the Chrysler Pacifica. Upon arrival at the hotel, guests will hand over their street shoes and be treated to soothe the sole flipflops. Other features of this attention to foot comfort will be evident at the resort. Essence of cacti mists the porte cochre and motor entryway. The resort music features the relaxing ambient sounds of birds and waves. In the guestroom, VIPs will don complimentary pareos of manta, fashioned with the hotels signature fabric, a repeating pattern of the symbol of the agave.
CACTUS PROGRAM: The preponderance of cacti begs a focus on these original, stunningly beautiful plants. A Cactus Concierge will tour guests through the gardens, identifying plants and commenting on their origins and care. Guests will be encouraged to photograph the wide variety of cacti.
Each guest room will house a pet cactus complete with a booklet on cactus care. The spa will feature cactus-inspired aloe vera treatments and a cactus juice bath. Cactus-based products will be available for sale in the spas store.
