Janet Redler, Chief Executive and Nick Bardsley, Chief Financial Officer of Janet Redler Travel & Tourism recently visited America to promote tours to Wales to travel agents, tour operators and other organisations.
As Wales's leading inbound tour operator, Janet Redler Travel and Tourism visited the United States to promote tourism to Wales, as well as other parts of the UK, and to encourage more Americans to travel across the Atlantic.
Janet Redler and Nick Bardsley visited Chicago, New York, Pennsylvania and Washington DC and were delighted with the reception they received.
Janet Redler said: “We were extremely pleased with our welcome in the US. We believe we have successfully raised awareness of the pleasures of travel to Wales and I think we will have encouraged more visitors to come in future. As a result of our trip, we hope to be bringing a number of large groups to Wales during 2016, as well as being the first choice partner for several US travel providers and delivering destination management services for US tour operators.”
According to the International Passenger Survey, visits to Wales from North America were up by 1.5% in the second quarter of 2015, compared to same quarter last year, and Janet Redler Travel and Tourism is keen to build on this growth and bring more tourists from North America to Wales.
Janet added: “We believe it is vitally important to get out and visit the markets we serve, not only to promote the services we offer, but to publicise Wales and the UK as a first class tourist destination, helping to boost investment and interest in our country.”
As well as visiting travel and tour organisations in the US, Janet and Nick visited academic and cultural bodies to discuss travel to Wales and spent time with Visit Wales at their office in New York. Janet Redler Travel and Tourism works closely with Visit Wales and recently organised a familiarisation tour of North and Mid Wales for travel professionals on their behalf.
