One of Australia's leading social media influencers, Darren Rowse from Problogger, will encourage more than 250 of the nation's rising bloggers to 'tweet before they eat' and 'boast about the coast' when he moves the annual ProBlogger conference to the Gold Coast this September 13 and 14.

This is the first time in its four year history that the ProBlogger conference will be held outside Melbourne.

A long-term fan of holidaying in Queensland, Victorian-based Rowse said he was looking forward to upping the ante and bringing ProBlogger to a fresh destination.

"We chose the Gold Coast for its welcoming September weather, easy access to Sydney, Melbourne and Asia and also for the fresh content and angles that will be available for the delegates to experience before and after the conference," Mr Rowse said.

"The Gold Coast is tagged as being Famous for Fun, and I'm sure that a subtropical backdrop will be appealing, especially when the rest of the nation is still coming out of winter."

Mr Rowse added that QT Gold Coast, the host hotel, is a standout as it offers a fun, friendly vibe and a bright Queensland welcome.

"The hotel is totally instagrammable," said Mr Rowse.

QT Gold Coast's Director of Brand Development, Kobi Facto said she was delighted to welcome the ProBlogger community to the hotel.

"ProBlogger's Darren Rowse is one of Australia's most established professional bloggers and his two blog sites alone reach out to a community of around five million people," she said.

"When you put that into traditional media context, Darren talks to an audience that is three times larger than some of Australia's prime-time blockbuster TV shows.

"If we can impress Darren and his audience - and their audiences - with what we have here on the Gold Coast, we hope to communicate to millions of people in just one weekend."

Based on attendance from last year, the ProBlogger conference is expected to attract between 250 and 300 delegates ranging from start-up bloggers to pioneers in the social media industry. The bloggers cover topics such as fashion, travel, photography, business and health and are expected to reach out to a combined audience exceeding 15 million people.

Tourism and Events Queensland will maximize the presence of the digital influencers and will coordinate a selection of tailored pop-up experiences that are designed to showcase the best of the Gold Coast's tourism attractions.
