On behalf of the Formentera tourism board, we are hosting a small group press trip to the Balearic Island of Formentera from 6-9 June.  

The trip will be a fantastic introduction to the island focused on exploring the hidden gems of Formentera, one of the lesser-known islands of the Balearics, and the 'slow travel' experience.

The trip will include visiting the pristine beaches of Formentera, sampling local wine and gastronomy, and learning about local culture, as well as the history of the island. The trip will also visit some of Formentera's most famous attractions including the picturesque town of San Francesc, the natural salt marshes of Ses Salines, the village of El Pilar de la Mola to see the impressive windmill ( which featured on the cover of Pink Floyd's More album), and the lighthouse Des cap de Barberia. 

Formentera has launched a number of sustainability and eco-tourism initiatives including a new law, which will limit the entry and circulation of vehicles on the island. The new regulations, expected to come into place in summer 2019, are being launched to limit saturation challenges faced by the island annually, as well as to protect Formentera's environment, boost eco-sensitive tourism to the island and reduce CO2 emissions.
