This september LOTUS will be hosting a soft adventure trip to the sunny Region of Murcia, Spain, to visit The Sierra Espuña and enjoy the Carthaginians and Romans Festival.

The Sierra Espuña Regional Park, Murcia's prime ecotourist destination, has launched six new sustainable tourism experiences with the following themes: Adventure; Among Birds; On Wheels; Panoramic Moment; Flavour Route; and Paths. These have been designed with visitors of all different ages and physical conditions in mind and offer numerous great ways to discover the natural landscapes of the Region of Murcia, ranging from taking in the breathtaking views of the park while paragliding to sampling local organic produce.

On this trip there will be the chance to visit the Nature Park as well as hike along the stunning beaches of Calblanque and discover the historic city of Cartagena where the Carthaginians and Romans Festival will be taking place. During the festival, thousands of locals dress as Roman troops and take to the streets to take part in historical re-enactments, such as the Roman marriage between Hannibal and Imilce.
