Cooks, The Carlton School of Food

Cooks, The Carlton School of Food is more than just a cookery school; Cooks is a place to discover food. Launched on 1st May 2014, The Carlton School of Food is located in the original kitchens of Carlton Towers, the ancestral home of the Duke of Norfolk and currently home to Lord and Lady Gerald Fitzalan Howard.

Due to a last minute cancellation we have two spaces available for the first baking class at Cooks, to be taught by Great British Bake Off finalist Brendan Lynch. Any fan of the show will remember his superb baking and on this one-day class you will learn at least three separate bakes with Brendan, each one taking you through different techniques and skills. It promises to be a fun packed and informative day.

Whether your inspiration comes from the Great British Bake Off, or you just enjoy rolling up your sleeves and kneading dough, the better baking classes will hone your skills.

The magnificent ranges and the butler's pantry have been regenerated, the pastry room has been renovated for future classes and new oak furniture has been designed by local craftswoman Karan Main from The Main Furniture Company, Yorkshire.

Guests can also step back in time and see authentic pieces of history - including the original 'Carlton Hall Table' built in circa 1614 - which has remained in the house since it was built.

Cooks welcome everyone, from the absolute novice to the professional chef, the enthusiastic amateur, gap year student or those already running food-led businesses.
