On behalf of the Quintas da Madeira I would like to invite you or a commissioned writer of your choice to join a small press trip to Madeira to enjoy the best of the Quintas during the Atlantic Festival. The annual Atlantic Festival takes place throughout the month of June and every weekend sees a different country compete for the honour of sponsoring the famed New Years Eve fireworks, all synchronised to music. The festival doubles as a celebration of music with lots of bands performing in Funchal.

In addition to the Festival activities on Saturday night, the group will enjoy a range of activities organised by the Quintas including levada walking, spa treatments, a tour of Funchal and meals in a number of the Quintas exquisite restaurants serving some of the best Madeira food available.

The Group will spend the first two nights in the Albatroz Beach and Yacht Club which is located in Santa Cruz on the south east side of Madeira, approximately 17km away from Funchal. The hotel sits on the sea-front offering un-obscured views of the Atlantic and access to two sea-water and one fresh water swimming pools. The hotel is surrounded by 14,000m� of exotic gardens and guests can enjoy the hotel�s tennis court and gain access the nearby Santo de Serra golf club (home to the Madeira Island open).

The last night will be spent at Quintinha de Sao Joao which is built within the grounds of one of Funchal�s historic Quintas. This traditional, five-star hotel has 34 rooms and nine suites, all decorated with examples of traditional embroidery and Madeiran craftsmanship. Leisure facilities include a new spa which opened in February 2009, games room and pool. There is also the Mogadinha Restaurant, which offers a wide menu, including regional and international specialties as well as Goan food, celebrating this former Portuguese colony in India.
