Press Invite: Lunch At The Corner House

Corner House

Matt Sworder, who trained under Gordon Ramsay (La Noisette), Anthony Demetre (Les Deux Salons) and Adam Byatt (Bristo Union), has returned to his birth place to open The Corner House in Minster, near Ramsgate, Kent.

The restaurant building was formerly known as Morton’s Fork restaurant, owned by Mathew’s father, David Sworder, and successfully run from 1984 to 2000.  Thereafter the building was leased out to others, until now when Matthew has returned to the very place he was born in 1985 to set up his own restaurant. David returns to run the front of house whilst Matt creates the innovative dishes in the kitchen.

Set in the historic village of Minster in Kent on the Isle of Thanet, The Corner House has two rooms to accommodate over night guests.  The double and twin room have been refurbished to a high standard and cost £65 a night including a continental breakfast, with the option to upgrade to a full English for £5.

Minster Station, a 5 minute walk from the restaurant, has excellent high speed rail links to London.  Manston International airport is only 10 minutes away offering daily KLM flights that connect via Schiphol to the rest of the world.

The Corner House is open for breakfast, coffee, light snacks, lunch and dinner.
