Press Invite: Battle Of Bosworth Re-Enactment Weekend From 17-18 August 2013

Leicester Shire Promotions Limited

National travel and tourism press and media are invited to visit Leicestershire when one of the most famous turning points in British history will be re-created in spectacular fashion next month.

This year marks the 528th anniversary of the Battle of Bosworth which saw the death of King Richard III and the birth of the all-powerful Tudor dynasty under a new king, Henry VII.

The decisive battle of the War of The Roses will be re-enacted by enthusiasts at Leicestershire County Council's Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre during the weekend of 17-18 August 2013.

It is also the first re-enactment at Bosworth since the worldwide interest around the archaeological dig in Leicester which resulted in confirmation back in February that the remains found at Grey Friars were those of Richard III.

To register your interest in attending the re-enactment, please contact Robert Harding at Leicester Shire Promotions on 0116 225 4072 or via email at robert.harding@l-p-l.com

Each day at Bosworth will be brimming with a wide range of events for all the family and will culminate in an exciting re-enactment of the battle where the clanking of armour and whistling of arrows rushing through the air, combined with the blast of cannon and the thumping of horses' hooves, bring to life a pivotal moment in history.
