Leading travel insurer, Preferential, has been awarded one of the travel insurance industrys top honours. The company beat strong competition to win the Intermediary of the Year Award at the prestigious International Travel Insurance Journal (ITIJ) Awards for the firms ongoing dedication to providing tailored insurance solutions.
Preferential last won the award in 2007. Commenting on the win, Steve Nickerson, managing director of Preferential, says, It is an honour for Preferential to have once again been recognised for this award. The competition is always fierce, however the judges decided that our achievements were worthy of this coveted award.
Preferential was established in 1996 and is based in Dorking, Surrey. From its inception, Preferential, unlike many others, has solely specialised in travel insurance; providing innovative, tailored solutions to each customer's requirements. The group is uniquely structured and consists of three separate divisions:
Preferential Insurance Services - the business to business division. Staffed by experienced travel insurance managers, this division provides solutions to the Travel trade, Financial Services and Affinity group sectors counting leading cruise, airline and retail companies amongst its client portfolio.
Optimum - the underwriting division. Now one of the UK's leading travel underwriting agencies, Optimum manages each individual component of a travel insurance programme. They have acted, since inception, under delegated authority from Groupama Insurance Company Limited and are a participating member of the Travel Underwriters Group.
Preferential Direct - the consumer division. Marketing a comprehensive portfolio of Preferential branded travel insurance products direct to specific consumer groups fulfilled via either the web or their own UK based call centre.
The Preferential group has provided policies for millions of UK travellers in 2008 and 2009 making them one of the leaders in the field.
