At Powder Byrne, they don't offer holiday packages but look to craft individually prepared holidays for their clients; It might be they are looking to introduce their kids to the joys of skiing, or planning a multi-generational skiing holiday for a special family celebration; or looking for somewhere to escape for a long weekend, or the ideal resort to go to if one of the party is a non-skier. Whatever the need, Powder Byrne are the specialists at delivering bespoke experiences which ideally suit their clients' exact needs. With 30 years experience operating at the top of their field, it is their flexibility which sets them apart from many other companies.
The ski booking season is now in full flow, so we are delighted to highlight a variety of experiences which Powder Byrne can tailor as required.
These examples include a guide price for each experience but this may vary for each individual holiday.
1. Family holiday, kids first time skiing
Taking kids skiing for the first time can be a daunting process. Powder Byrne have taught generations of young skiers to ski, some of whom have gone on to become instructors themselves! Their beginner ski programmes which start from the age of 3 in Yeti Primer (3 to 4 yr olds), Yetis (4 to 9 yr olds) and SnoZone Beginners ( 10 – 14 yr olds) offer inspirational programmes with their dedicated English speaking instructors, supported by PB programme managers, with like-minded kids of the same age. This is particularly important for the older beginners who don't want to be put into a class with much younger children which can be somewhat off-putting when learning to ski for the first time at a slightly older age. Children can then progress seamlessly through the various programmes from one year to the next. Safety is paramount at all times, giving parents complete confidence that their children are in the best possible hands.
Powder Byrne will be operating at the brand new 4 star Ameron Swiss Mountain Hotel in Davos in 2015/16.. They have negotiated an amazing introductory rate for families staying at February half term. A multi-generational holiday can be difficult to arrange, as the needs of each member of the family could be vastly different. Finding the right type of accommodation which gives the family complete flexibility – flexibility in terms of space for everyone to do their own thing (kids to watch dvd's, play games etc away from the adults, quiet areas for reading for others, space for all to dine and relax together), and flexibility in terms of catering (eat in, be catered for, dine out) all being of paramount importance when big families go on holiday together. Powder Byrne have a range of luxury chalet style apartments which have just the perfect space to match these requirements in Flims & Laax, Switzerland. The teenage years can be a challenge for parents – having become competent on-piste skiers, the adrenalin seeking young wish to push the boundaries a bit more by taking to the ski parks. Parents, however, are concerned about safety if they are just let loose to practice their air jumps on their own. For this reason, Powder Byrne have developed their inspiring ski Academies for teenagers in the Flims/Laax/Falera region of Switzerland, which will satisfy the wishes of both parents and offspring. This region is renowned for its up to the minute snow parks – with jumps, boxes, adrenaline-fuelled runs and the largest half pipe in Europe. Powder Byrne are specialists at looking after every member of the family – non skiers included - and with their 24/7 service in resort, they are there to help non-skiers have an equally good time. What's more, because they are specialists in looking after non-skiers, it is likely they will meet other PB guests who they can join up with if they so wish. Whilst their luxury hotels all have top spas and wellness centres, there is only so much time you can spend having yet another treatment. The next step is to attempt some off-piste skiing together. 8. Pure unadulterated luxury
And finally, if it's just unadulterated luxury and pampering you want when skiing, there is no-where better to stay than Zermatt. Renowned as one of the world's greatest ski resorts, its appeal is as much about the car-free village and mountain restaurant experience as it is about the quality of the skiing. It is a joy to wander around the narrow streets, with buildings dating back to the Middle Ages, bustling with a wide array of shops, bars and restaurants. Powder Byrne would recommend the Mont Cervin Palace in the heart of Zermatt.. This hotel with its impeccable, yet discreet service, will make even first time guests feel as if they are one of 'the regulars'. Whilst the hotel is part of Zermatt's history, having first opened its doors in 1852, it has been kept completely up to date in terms of what is expected by guests looking for complete luxury. It has 5 excellent restaurants, bars, a Davidoff cigar lounge and everything you would expect from its spa, pool and wellness centre. The scenery is breathtaking, with the Matterhorn towering over the village and plenty of opportunity for sun-seekers to top up their tans.
