Powder Byrne increase hotel availability in Arlberg ski region to meet increased demand due to improved lift links in the region
Powder Byrne expect to see increased interest from families skiing in Zurs and St Christoph due to the improved lifts linking the Arlberg villages of Zurs, Lech, Oberlech, St Anton and St Christoph.
New ski lift links in Arlberg region
St Christoph & Zurs are expected to benefit enormously from the opening of the new Flexenbahn gondola lift in 2016/17, linking the village of Stuben to Zurs, as well as improvements to the Trittkopf & Albona II lift systems. This will vastly improve lift connections for our clients staying in Zurs and St Christoph who will now be able to access the entire Arlberg ski region comprising 305 kms of downhill slopes and 87 lifts and cableways (previously only achievable by taking a tedious bus link).
In anticipation of this increased demand, Powder Byrne will be adding additional luxury hotels to their portfolio in St Christoph and Zurs:
1. St Christoph
- 5 star Arlberg Hospiz is expected to be a big draw for clients who enjoy fine dining. Renowned in particular for it's 600 year old Brotherhood's Wine Cellar, which houses their world famous collection of Bordeaux and Burgundy wines, they also have the world's largest collection of wines in large bottles (magnums, jeroboams etc) including some particular rarities.
The Arlberg Hospiz joins our current portfolio of 3 other luxury hotels in this delightful hamlet which is ideal for families with small children - the Alpenhotel Hotel, Hotel Maiensee and Arlberghohe. - We will be offering our full service in St Christoph during the peak February half term week where we run our Yeti and SnoZone programmes for kids from 4 to 14 years of age. Concierge Service is available at other times.
- Powder Byrne recommends booking early for the exceptionally popular February half term week (11th February) to ensure the best choice of hotels, rooms and flights. This resort may be charmingly small, but the available skiing is destined to become as good as anywhere in the Alps. We expect interest to be brisk as a result.
- Price from £3,490 per adult staying at Hotel Maiensee for 7 nights from 11th February on HB basis. Price includes return flights, luxury transfers and full Powder Byrne service in resort.
2. Zurs.
- We are delighted to be adding the Sporthotel Lorunser to our list of 8 family run hotels in Zurs. Very conveniently located for all the amenities of this high altitude resort, this hotel has it all – pool, spa, fine dining and a very well stocked wine cellar.
- We will be offering our full service from February half term right through to the end of the season. We will be operating our pb crèche (4mths to 3 yrs) and Yeti Primer (3-4 yrs) programmes throughout the season, and in addition Yeti (4-9 yrs), SnoZone (10-14 yrs), and FreeZone (14-17 yrs) during peak school holiday weeks.
- As with St Christoph, due to the extra interest in this region resulting from improved links to other ski areas, early booking for peak weeks is recommended.
- Price from £3,262 per adult staying at Sporthotel Lorunser, Zurs for 7 nights from 1st April 2017 on HB basis. Price includes return flights, luxury transfers and full Powder Byrne service in resort.
