Not into big cities? Cascais is a great place to stay if you're looking for a portuguese destination, smaller than busy Lisbon but with plenty of things to do. Located just 19 miles west of Lisbon, and 10 miles south of Sintra, here you can get a feel for authentic Portugal.

Blessed by a mild climate, Cascais is a relaxing seaside town, surrounded by an unique natural park, where trekking, biking and surfing are part of the local lifestyle.

You can also dive into local history and discover why this town is linked to so many european royal families, artists and famous spies!

To ensure that traveling through Portugal is perfectly safe, the country created in 2020 a “Clean and Safe” seal of approval to distinguish tourist activities, which are compliant with hygiene and cleaning requirements for the prevention and control of COVID-19. From June 1st, Portugal has started to offer the “Covid-19 European Safety Seal”, being the first country in Europe to precede this classification.
Members of the “Clean & Safe” seal will automatically be able to use the visual identity of the European Tourism COVID-19 Safety Seal. This new health and safety protocol aims at the safe reopening of tourism and the promotion of the European Union's reputation as a quality tourist destination.

Please bear in mind that tourist travel from the United States to mainland Portugal is allowed for travelers with proof of a negative COVID-19 test. Except for children until 24 months old, every passenger must submit a negative SARSCoV-2 lab result of a nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT), for example a PCR test, performed in the last 72 hours or a rapid antigen test (TRAg), performed within 24 hours of boarding. Travelers should also complete a Passenger Locator Card within 48 hours of traveling to Portugal.
