"Pompeii Theatrum Mundi" is the name of the first edition of the festival of ancient drama which will be staged in the Teatro Grande in Pompeii next summer, between June and July of 2017.

Dramas by Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides will be presented in the very place where, in all probability, they were performed in Roman times.

This year's programme edition promises some exceptional shows: Aeschylus' Orestea and Baccanti, Sophocles' Antigone, and the mysterious myth of Prometheus by Euripides.
