Edinburgh Festival favourite, The Pommery Champagne Cafe Bar, will be back this summer with added pop!
For the fourth year, the historic Signet Library on the Royal Mile which, for the rest of the year hosts the acclaimed Gran Caffè, will open its doors for festival fizz from Friday 1 August to Monday 25 August 2014. Over the last year the Gran Caffè has seen great success, now featuring on The List's Eating & Drinking Guide Hit List alongside other Heritage Portfolio cafes in historic venues.
This year, the sophisticated pop-up has a distinctly Scottish feel, with unmissable Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo packages, indulgent Sunday whisky experiences, and 'meet the brewer' events with samples of locally brewed artisan beers. The much-loved sold out champagne events from 2013 will also be returning, including the incredibly successful tutored tastings with Pommery's UK ambassador, Sara Hicks. Tickets for the tastings are available from the Edinburgh Fringe Box Office.
The cafe bar has become known as the place to see and be seen during Edinburgh's festivals, while providing the perfect place to soak up the festival atmosphere with a glass of bubbly.
Open daily from 12 noon until late, food will once more be a highlight. The popular pop-up bar is famed for its spectacular champagne afternoon teas and exquisite locally sourced seafood, as well as firm favourites: whole roast lobster with hand cut chunky fries and the superb Pommery Burger.
The Pommery Champagne Cafe Bar is a partnership between Edinburgh creative caterers Heritage Portfolio and the Writers to the Signet, owners of the Signet Library.
