Poldark's Cornwall - Stay in luxury lodges enjoyed by the cast and explore the locations
With the second series of Poldark set to make a smouldering return to TV screens this Autumn, Cornwall's rugged beauty will once again be showcased at the heart of this epic story and fuel the passion visitors have for this beautiful part of the world.
Visitors to Cornwall can fully indulge in their Poldark fantasies at the multi-award winning Gwel an Mor Resort with its strong connections to the series. Set on the North Cornish coast at Portreath, overlooking the sea and surrounded by countryside, Gwel an Mor is close-by to many Poldark locations - mining heritage sites, coves and villages - making this the perfect base to explore. Guests may even get the unique opportunity to stay in one of the luxury lodges where 'Ross', 'Demelza' or 'Elizabeth' lived during the filming of the latest series as the resort was chosen as the base for the principal cast during their time in Cornwall.
A year round destination to be enjoyed in any season, the 5 star resort consists of a stylish collection of luxury self-catering lodges with extensive facilities on site including The Terrace restaurant, Wellbeing spa and leisure facilities, tennis courts and new for this year, Basecamp, the childrens play barn and climbing wall.
With 2 or 3 bedroom options, the high-spec and stylish lodges are fully equipped with a strong focus on comfort including hot tubs and wood burners on offer. All the lodges come complete with sea views and plenty of outdoor space to enjoy the great outdoors. Gwel an Mor is also home to Feadon Farm, the resort's very own wildlife and conservation centre, where guests can embark on guided ranger-led experiences and get to meet the whole host of tame and rescue animals which live on site.
For Poldark fans who want all the insider information, the resort offers guests the chance to join expert guided tours of the iconic Cornish locations which appear in the programme and with the 3rd series just announced, you might even be lucky enough to spot the new episodes in production.
Poldark themed press trips are available from September onwards.
