LAS VEGAS - Responding to decreasing gas prices, Pink Jeep Tours - Las Vegas, Inc. is dropping its $5 fuel surcharge as of this Friday, Dec. 5. The $5 per person surcharge was applied to all full-day tours including Grand Canyon, Zion National Park and Death Valley. The average full-day Pink Jeep Tour price begins at approximately $200. Pink Jeep Tours added the nominal surcharge in 2006 in response to the then-increasing gas prices to cover expenses and avoid increasing the price of tours.

The company's monthly gasoline expenses range from $25,000 to $35,000. "We have watched the price of gasoline slip to a new 3-year low. Should fuel prices drastically increase once more, we will evaluate our situation if that time comes. For now, our primary focus is for Pink Jeep Tours to remain an affordable and incredible, once-in-a-lifetime outdoor experience," says Alix Reed, general manager, Pink Jeep Tours. Earlier this year, Pink Jeep Tours unveiled the Tour Trekker, the first of its kind, high-end, all-terrain, 4-wheel drive vehicle, designed to be the ultimate tour vehicle. The Tour Trekkers operate on diesel fuel. Pink Jeep Tours expects to complete its fleet of 20 Trekkers by early 2009.
