When was the last time you picked up a pencil to draw, or a paintbrush? Often skills we loved as children are lost to us as grown-ups and it’s hard to know where to start.
For holidaymakers who want to rediscover their creative side, a new Sketch Club has been introduced at St James’s Club Morgan Bay, Saint Lucia from 6 - 11 June.
Unlike an artists-retreat where the sole purpose of the trip is to paint, the sessions at St James’s Club Morgan Bay are short masterclasses for all levels of ability - even complete beginners - hosted by professional illustrator Adam Stower.
Everyone will be given sketch packs at the beginning of the week - pads, pencils, crayon, paints, ink and wash, charcoal and felt tips. Sketching is simple and portable, so the hour-long sketching masterclasses will be hosted in and around the resort in different locations - as well as going out and about in beautiful Saint Lucia.
The sessions are free to attend for any guests staying at the resort and they are designed to be fun and social with no pressure to produce a masterpiece.
Adam Stower said: “Sketching is a great way to relax and in this age of digital photography when the world is viewed through an HD screen and snapped in an instant, the aim is to slow down, relax and record our surroundings and experiences by taking the time to really look and appreciate what we see.”
Kuoni (01306 747008 or www.kuoni.co.uk) offer seven nights on all inclusive basis at St James’s Club Morgan Bay, Saint Lucia in a garden view room, including economy flights with British Airways from London Gatwick with transfers in resort. The price for 05 June 2013 is from £1179 per person, which includes a saving of up to £605 per couple. To book quote tour reference: CL0075.
