WHAT: The American Diabetes Association (ADA) returns to Philadelphia for the first time in 11 years to hold its 72nd Scientific Sessions at the expanded Pennsylvania Convention Center in conjunction with Stop Diabetes Week. Diabetes experts in Philadelphia will converge in Philadelphia for the world's largest and most prestigious meeting to discuss cutting-edge education and information about diabetes. 60 percent of attendees are international and ADA is Philadelphia's largest convention of the year in terms of economic impact, $59 million.
New to the Scientific Sessions this year are meetings where a small number of attendees have the opportunity to meet and interact with a key opinion leader, including Timothy S. Kern, Lawrence Fisher, Howard A. Wolpert and more. These Meet the Expert sessions will take place on Friday, June 8 from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m in the Grand Hall.
