Philadelphia Welcomes The Black Engineer Of The Year Awards And Its Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics Conference
WHAT: The 26th Black Engineer of the Year Awards (BEYA) and Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) Global Competitiveness Conference will convene in Philadelphia from Thursday, February 16 through Saturday, February 18. BEYA's appearance in Philadelphia is especially noteworthy as the conference has been held in Baltimore since its inception twenty-five years ago.
The conference was created to recognize and honor African-Americans who have made significant contributions in STEM fields. Thousands of elite professionals and students from across the country, representing the upper echelon of STEM disciplines and careers, will take part in seminars, workshops, a career fair and several awards ceremonies. The main conference award ceremony, the Black Engineer of the Year Awards Gala, recognizes the top minority talent from participating organizations across the globe. This year's Black Engineer of the Year recipient is David L. Steward, Founder and Chairman of the Board Worldwide Technology Inc.

The BEYA STEM Career Fair is open to students and professionals seeking employment and networking opportunities with Fortune 500 employers including recruiters from some of the largest corporations in the world such as IBM, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, General Motors, Ford Motor Company and MITRE Corporation.
Exciting event programming includes the Stars & Stripes dinner that will honor the nation's first Black Marines, top Black Admirals, Generals and Senior Executive Service Members. The Student Leadership & Scholarship Awards Dinner recognizes the most outstanding students in STEM programs across the nation and the Science Spectrum's Trailblazers Lunch celebrates the top minority professionals working in the science and technology fields.
