October 30, 2015 - Philadelphia is the latest destination to release a bespoke training module for travel agents as part of Brand USA's USA Discovery Programme. Agents across the UK are encouraged to become an accredited Philadelphia specialist by earning their brand new, bespoke Philadelphia Specialist badge.
The training scheme focuses on all aspects of the City of Brotherly Love that brought cultural phenomena such as the American Flag, Philly Cheesesteak and Rocky.
To gain the newly-launched badge, agents must complete the short online training programme and then take the eight-question quiz on the official agent training site for the U.S.
“Agents can learn everything they need to know about the birthplace of America including information on the city's dining, nightlife, accommodation, excellent tax-free shopping, attractions and ease of access from the UK,” explained Brian Said, Executive Director of Tourism at the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau.
“This is the first step to centralize our agent education efforts in our primary feeder markets, making it more convenient for top sellers to learn more about Philadelphia through Brand USA's infrastructure. We will be rolling this out to other markets in the near future.”
The USA Discovery Programme is Brand USA's official online training tool about the diverse destinations and experiences available in the USA to inspire and help the travel industry become accredited as USA Specialists, and currently, there are over 4,700 subscribers to the programme.
