PHILADELPHIA…May 4, 2012… The Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau (PCVB) welcomed a new member to its sales team, with the addition of James Delmar, National Accounts Manager. Delmar's focus is on the Mid-West and West, with room nights of 10-500 on peak, as well as the Northeast with 10-200 on peak and the LGBT/International Group Markets.
“James brings a diverse background and knowledge in the association, corporate group, pharmaceutical and other markets, all of which are vital to our success. This translates into continued growth for meetings and conventions in Philadelphia,” said Julie Coker, senior vice president, convention division, PCVB.
Prior to joining the PCVB, Delmar spent the last eight years as a Senior Sales Manager at the Crowne Plaza Philadelphia Downtown Hotel, managed by the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG).
Delmar joined IHG in January 2003 and transferred to Philadelphia in November 2003. While at IHG, Delmar received the award for IHG Global Sales Partner of the Year, Groups & Meetings, presented at the IHG Annual Global Sales Meeting and the IHG Tenacity Award given at the IHG Annual Manager's Convention.
Delmar, who lives in Philadelphia, is a member of Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) and ASAE.
