With Australia�s most reliable snow, Perisher Blue�s ski lifts were the first to open and will be the last to close in the 2006 ski season which officially closes this long weekend. Good early snowfalls in May and June had the industry buzzing with anticipation for what was hoped to be a bumper year, only to be let down by weather patterns producing mostly dry, cloudless skies through July, August and September. However, all was not lost.

Two good powder dumps were recorded during the season, making for excellent skiing in early to late August. For the majority of the season, the four resorts of Perisher Valley, Smiggin Holes, Blue Cow and Guthega were interlinked, offering guests the most terrain available in Australia.

Australia�s biggest and by far the best terrain park, the PSP Slopestyle, on Front Valley opened at the start of June and stayed open until the very last day. Complimenting this, the PSP Superpipe, Australia�s only competition standard halfpipe in 2006 ensured free riders would not miss out on outstanding features and facilities.

Perisher Blue successfully conducted every scheduled event receiving many accolades and a glut of media exposure. The Spring Carnival, now in its second year was a hit with guests and is growing into a more substantial resort activity and a highlight on the calendar.

The praise received this winter through Guest Comments is a testament to staff keeping positive and ensuring that the guest experience was the best that it could be.

History tells us there have not been two snowfall years like 2006 in a row, so let�s put that in the vault over summer and carry it with us as we approach season 2007. We look forward to seeing you in 2007!
