Perfect Holidays for Valentine's Day: Mauritius, St. Lucia and France

P1 Communications

With Valentine's Day just around the corner we have put together a round-up of ideal holidays for a romantic break. Below are some suggestions from three of our clients; an adults-only hotel in Mauritius geared towards couples, a boutique hotel in St. Lucia with excellent private dining options, and The Tarn region of France, known for its quaint villages and beautiful countryside.

Mauritius: Veranda Paul & Virginie – Private Catamaran Trips with Candlelit Dinner

Why it's perfect for Valentine's Day:

All rooms at Veranda Paul et Virginie, a boutique adults-only hotel, offer sea views, across the vast lagoon of Grand Gaube.  The hotel is geared towards coupels and even takes its name from the characters in Bernardin de St-Pierre's 18th century novel, who are Mauritius' answer to Romeo and Juliet.  Couples can watch the sunset and enjoy a dinner for two on Veranda Resorts' private Catamaran, “Deep into the Blue” which sets off from the hotel's beach. The “Romance at Sunset” cruise includes two sundowner cocktails and a candlelight dinner on board (approx. £175 for two people).

The hotel's Seven Colours Spa offers a massage for two in a private outdoor spot by the sea.  For an intimate dinner for two, the Saint Géran restaurant welcomes guests to dine under a traditional Mauritian structure known as a “rondavelle” on the jetty.  Once a week, weather permitting, the hotel will host couples on the beach with a bonfire, live music and temporary decorations.

Prices and Booking:
Hayes & Jarvis is offering 7 nights in a Superior Room on an All-Inclusive basis from £1,492 per person from 13th – 20th February. Based on departures from Birmingham Airport.

St Lucia: Cap Maison – Dinner on a Private Wooden Deck with Champagne Zipline

Why it's perfect for Valentine's Day:

Cap Maison is an award-winning boutique villa resort with a dramatic ocean-front setting. Cap Maison boasts a private wooden-deck – Rock Maison – jetting out over the ocean where champagne can be delivered by zip-line from the bar above. Couples can also book Rock Maison for a luxury, four-course dinner served by a dedicated waiter.  The hotel also has a  natural rock pool that fills with sea water as the tide comes in. It has a submerged bench and is the perfect place for couples to enjoy a cocktail at sunset before heading up to Rock Maison for a private dinner.

Cap Maison also has a special Valentines' wine-pairing menu at the hotel's fine dining restaurant The Cliff at Cap and a more casual Valentines' Barbecue menu at the hotel's beach bar The Naked Fisherman.

Kenwood Travel is offering 7 nights in a Garden View Room on a Bed & Breakfast basis from £1,897 per person from 13th – 20th February. Based on departures from Gatwick Airport.

The Tarn: Rolling Vineyards, Unspoilt Countryside and Gourmet Food

Why it's perfect for Valentine's Day:

France's Tarn department provides opportunities to discover authentic French living, with visits to medieval chateaux, beautiful gardens and parks, and a long list of restaurants showcasing the area's high quality cuisine.  The area is located in the Languedoc-Roussillon-Midi-Pyrénées region in the southwest of France and offers miles of unspoilt countryside for couples to explore, with ancient vineyards, picturesque hilltop villages and rolling sunflower fields. There are varied accommodation options in The Tarn from the boutique L'Ancienne Auberge in Puycelsi, the authentic Chateau de Mayragues in Castlenau de Montmiral, to the art-deco Hotel Alchimy in Albi:
