The retreat has a total of 21 elegant bures, cabins and bungalows, all with balconies looking over a private beach, fringed by coconut palms and a spectacular 180-degree panorama of the Whitsundays.

As well as a total refurbishment of all the rooms, the upgrade includes the addition of an in-house movie room, a tennis court and spa facility. Peppers Palm Bay guests already have a superb range of facilities available to them including a magnificent saltwater pool, heated spa and naturally formed swimming lagoon. While the emphasis is definitely on enjoying this relaxation refuge, there�s always the opportunity to enjoy the island�s water-based activities such as snorkelling, paddle skis, and fishing or exploring the island and discovering its secluded beaches via 14 kilometres of walking trails. A variety of reef and ocean excursions are available too.

The property is located at Palm Bay on Long Island, right on the doorstep of the Great Barrier Reef. Despite its feeling of seclusion, getting there is remarkably easy with direct flights from New Zealand to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to Proserpine or Hamilton Island and boat connections to Peppers Palm Bay. Guests can be snorkelling in the tropical waters of the lagoon by lunchtime.
