Featuring 81 seals set in its compact, lightweight body, the K-30 is weather-resistant, dustproof and cold-resistant, handling temperatures as low as -10°C. This makes it the ultimate companion for outdoor adventures such as camping, hiking and snow trips, and is able to withstand the general rough-and-tumble of travelling. Easy to use, it is ideal for the entry-level SLR user.

Available in three glossy body colours - crystal blue, crystal white and classic black - the K-30's sporty, functional design is coupled with a rubber grip to provide a firm, comfortable hold of the camera, assuring a steady hand and flawless performance when snapping on the go.

The K-30 is equipped with many features normally reserved for more advanced SLRs, including a 16MP CMOS image sensor, full HD movie recording, advanced autofocus and a glass prism finder that covers nearly 100% field of view for easy focusing and framing when shooting landscapes and sports scenes.  A high-speed burst shooting function allows the photographer to record active, fast-moving subjects in a series of images (up to six images per second), perfect for snapping sports, wildlife and entertainment performances.

To maximise artistic expression, the K-30 features a wide selection of custom image functions and digital filters that allow the photographer to easily inject some creativity into a scene, without the need for manual retouching.  11 custom images are available, including bleach bypass (create a dramatic visual effect used in motion pictures) and cross process to (produce a eye-catching image with dramatic colours), as well as 19 distinctive digital filters such as miniature, toy camera, retro, fish eye, monochrome and water colour.

Other features include:
·        Auto Picture mode - selects most appropriate shooting mode for a given subject or scene
·        19 scene modes inc. night scene portrait, pet and backlight silhouette
·        Shake Reduction - take sharp, blur-free images even under demanding shooting conditions such as at night or while on the move
·        Choice of two power sources (lithium-ion and AA batteries) removing the hassle of battery shortages when on the road
