Skiers visiting Park City during the 2016/17 ski season have rarely had it so good with more than ten metres of fluffy powder snow falling on Park City Mountain and Deer Valley, Park City's two world class ski resorts. The abundant snowfall managed to get in the way of Park City Mountain's annual 'Pond Skimming' competition, where skiers adorned in crazy costumes and contraptions attempt to skim across a shallow pond of ice cold water. This fun event had to be postponed until the last weekend of the season because of yet another heavy dump of snow, giving competitors an extra week to contemplate being drenched in the freezing water as their skis, almost inevitably, came to a halt halfway across the pond!

As the season came to an end it became clear that the numbers of UK skiers visiting Park City had more than doubled from the previous season. With 59 ski lifts, 401 named runs and 9,736 skiable acres – there is an abundance of snowy fun for everyone to enjoy. The historic former mining town is just a short 35 minutes from Salt Lake City airport, and the new non-stop flight with Delta Airlines from London Heathrow means getting to the slopes is easier than ever, and with an evening departure to London from Salt Lake City, skiers can ski all day on their day of departure.
