Paradiski: Gravity

Paradiski

A world first, Paradiski (Savoie) hosted a unique challenge to the laws of gravity

A successful world first This Monday 16th December, Paradiski challenged two of the world's best highliners, Julien Millot and Tancrede Melet. These two highline experts, who have spent many years travelling the world, delivered an impressive and spectacular show between the two Vanoise Express cabins, which have been "revamped" for their tenth anniversary by fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.

The two French highliners walked on a 2.5cm wide and 60 metre long slackline suspended between the two Vanoise Express cabins: the Vanoise Express is the world's biggest cable car.

To celebrate 10 years of Paradiski This record took place in the ski domain of Paradiski, which was created ten years ago on the 20th December, 2003. The second biggest interconnected ski domain in the world, Paradiski is part of an elite circle of very large interconnected ski domains.

The Vanoise Express is the worlds's largest cable car. It links the stations of Paradiski in just four minutes, at a speed of 45km/h or 12.5 metres per second, over a distance of 1824 metres. It consists of two, double storey cabins, each having the capacity to carry 200 passengers. To celebrate its tenth anniversary, this Monday, 16th December 2013, the ski domain Paradiski (Savoie) hosted "Paradiski Gravity", a world first in highline consisting of a slackline suspended between the void of two cable cars, 380 metres high.
