September marks the start of Palma's events season when the Balearic Island capital comes alive with a diverse range of cultural, sporting and gastronomic events, making it an ideal time for a short break from the UK.

30th August – 6th September - Ella International Lesbian Festival, Palma
The 7th edition of Ella International Lesbian Festival is a celebration of culture, music, art and sport bringing together women from the international LGBT community and showcasing Palma's LGBT offering. Starting with an evening event on 30 August at Palma's Palacio de Congresos, the week-long programme offers a range of daytime and evening events taking place throughout the city.

Featuring yoga, surfing, self-defence, stand-up paddle boarding, as well as boat parties, dinners, DJ events and inspirational talks, visitors can explore the city of Palma, enjoy thought-provoking content and make friends with other like-minded individuals.

21st September- Nit de l'Art, Palma
On the 21st September 2019, Palma hosts its Nit de l'Art which sees some of the city's best museums and galleries open their doors until midnight while the streets of Palma come alive with performance art and street theatre. Showcasing the city's vibrant contemporary arts scene, the event starts from 19:00 and the galleries will remain open until midnight. 13th October - Palma de Mallorca Marathon, Palma
On 13 October, Palma will welcome back the Mallorca Marathon which offers a 10k, a half marathon and a full-length marathon. The race starts by the sea on the Passeig Marítim (seafront promenade), opposite the Palma cathedral and offers one of Europe's most attractive running routes. 19th October - Colcada de la Beata, Palma
Known locally as Colcada de la Beata, the 'Procession of the Blessed' celebrates the beatification of Saint Catalina Tomàs. born in the northwest Mallorcan region of Valldemossa in 1531, and who died at Palma's Santa Magdalena convent in 1574.
One of the most significant processions in Palma, the event features a special sermon in the Santa Maria Magdalena church and a colourful parade of floats and musicians in the evening. The parade starts in Paseo Mallorca and turns into Jaume III through La Rambla, ending at the church of Santa Magdalena. 24th – 30th October - Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival, Palma
Now in its 8th year, EMIFF is based in the heart of the Mediterranean, in Mallorca's buzzing and culturally rich capital city of Palma. The festival is curated to display a culturally diverse, inclusive and provocative mix of feature films, short films, documentaries, music videos, film's for kids, experimental films, Virtual Reality and a brand-new Web/TV series category.
