Tickets go on sale at 12 noon PST on August 1st 2019 and with another line up of fantastic tours, talks and parties, tickets are sure to sell fast. Here's a guide to some of this autumn's best events:

'Recognizing Modernist Architect Hugh Michael Kaptur'
Presented by the Palm Springs Preservation Foundation, attendees can enjoy two free ticketed events that celebrate the life and work of influential modernist architect Hugh Michael Kaptur on Friday 18 October. The first event will see the dedication of “Hugh M. Kaptur Way” at the east end of Kaptur Plaza (originally known as Tahquitz Plaza). Following the street naming ceremony attendees are invited to the nearby Koffi Central for the unveiling of an over-sized architectural rendering of the Kaptur-designed complex. Offering a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the works of this renowned architect, the event is also scheduled to see Hugh Kaptur himself attend.

The schedule also features other Kaptur-focused events, including a rare opportunity to tour a recently refurbished Kaptur structure.

'Midcentury Mixology'
A new addition to the programme, this fantastic event will be held at Palm Springs' renowned Mr Lyon's Steakhouse on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 October between 3pm and 5pm. Joining some legendary mixologists, attendees will learn how to make some of the midcentury's most iconic and classic cocktails before getting to sample them. Tickets are $62 and include three drinks.

'Bold & Beautiful: Designing with Color in the Desert'
Presented by Michael Ostrow (Interior Designer / Grace Home Furnishings), Sara McLean (Color Expert & Stylist at Dunn-Edwards) and Katy Carrier (Editor of Modern Luxury Palm Springs), this engaging discussion focuses on the use of colour in the iconic design styles within Palm Springs. Mimosas and light bites will also be served, adding an element of midcentury elegance to the event. Taking place on Sunday 20 October, tickets for this event cost $30.

'Give Me Shelter Home Tour'
Offering a rare opportunity to see inside some of Palm Springs' most beautiful Modernist houses, this self-guided tour takes attendees through six of the city's iconic neighbourhoods. As guests walk through these homes, which are seldom open to the public, they will discover how these midcentury buildings blur the lines between indoor and outside space and work in tandem with the majestic desert landscape. Produced by the Friends of the Palms Springs Animal Shelter, the tour concludes with a cocktail reception at Palm Springs Animal Shelter (4pm – 6pm). This tour takes place on October 19, with tickets costing $75.

Modernism Week Fall Preview will also see the return of some its most-loved signature events, including the 'Premier Double Decker Architectural Bus Tour', 'Frey House II Tour', 'Frank Sinatra's

“Twin Palms” Estate Tour' and 'The Best of Mod with a Twist'.

Following this fantastic Fall Preview, Modernism Week's 11-day festival will return February 13-23, to celebrate its 15th anniversary.  The schedule for 2020's full Modernism Week will be announced on October 25, 2019 with tickets on sale from November 1, 2019.
