With self-isolators reaching for the fridge every ten minutes, leading Spanish hotel group Palladium Hotel Group is helping them recreate that gourmet five-star hotel dining experience in their own kitchens with some useful tips and tricks.

EARLY RISER: Barista-style coffee in the comfort of your own home

A strong caffeine hit is one of the most popular ways of kick-starting the day ahead as well as preparing the body for a day of five-star eating.  Our favourite is a latte from Piacere – the coffee shop at the five-star TRS Cap Cana Hotel, located on the Dominican Republic's eastern coast.  Unfortunately, we don't all possess a state-of-the-art coffee machine but fear not, coffee from the Dominican Republic is widely available at supermarkets in the UK and to achieve that perfect frothy coffee, simply pour your milk into a jar and get shaking before adding to your coffee.

UNEXPECTED BREAKFAST: Recover from those late night 'house-parties' by creating Ibiza-style breakfast food stations

As the saying goes, breakfast like a king…and never has this been truer than at hotel-meets-music venue, Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel, which serves one of the most elaborate breakfasts in Ibiza, ideal for a post house-party pick-me-up . Its popular brunch concept, The Unexpected Breakfast, features different themed food stations, including sweet and savoury, exotic and gourmet, and healthy and vegan dishes, created for party-goers looking to recover from the night before, or fuel up for the day ahead.

At home, there are enough food stations to recreate each morning for the rest of lockdown.  Step one; vitamin-boosted shakes from the detox station will help keep the immune-system in check.  Whilst chia seeds and coconut water may not be kitchen cupboard essentials, most people have some fruit and veg hanging around so throw any combination of sliced apple, spinach, celery, with optional banana or frozen fruit and a squeeze of lemon and lime juice into your blender, press the button, pour over ice, and voila!

Step two is the egg station. We recommend gourmet egg muffins, which can be made with all manner of fridge leftovers such as cheese, ham, mushrooms or herbs. Chop up the leftovers, lightly fry and then spoon into a cake tray. Add cheese (if you have any), mix eggs with some milk and salt and pepper and pour over the veg. Bake for around 20 minutes until golden. For those with a slightly more refined pantry, add a drop of truffle oil for the ultimate five-star breakfast.

Step three: the pastry station. No gourmet breakfast is complete without freshly baked pastries but during lockdown making professional pastries from scratch may be a long shot. On the next supermarket outing, pick up some (tried and tested) “cheat” Jus-Rol Pains Au Chocolate (£2.10 for six). Pop in the oven and stream one of Ushuaïa Ibiza's #StayAtHome sessions on YouTube while waiting for them to bake.

A TASTE OF SPAIN: Simple and nourishing dishes for a pre-siesta lunch

Sitting beside the Lagoon pool at Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife, The Beach Club serves simple Mediterranean cuisine that leaves visitors feeling satisfied and ready for an afternoon relaxing in the sun / on the sofa. For many people, if you ask what one Spanish ingredient they love, the answer will be chorizo. The ability of this cured sausage to transform almost any dish is remarkable - whether it's the star of the show or an accompaniment to vegetables, fish or other meat. Readily available in most UK supermarkets, we suggest enjoying thin slices with a glass tinto or creating a five-star chorizo and pea risotto. The easy-to-make recipe only requires five ingredients and takes 30 minutes to perfect. Fry the chopped chorizo and set aside. Tip the risotto rice into the pan and coat in the chorizo oil before adding ladles of stock; once absorbed, add more until the rice is almost ready. Add frozen peas and parmesan if you have it. Top with the crispy chorizo and enjoy.

SUNSET APERITIF: Whip up the perfect chill-out cocktail

Helios Beach Clubs, located at TRS Hotels in the Dominican Republic and Mexico, follow the trail of the famous beach clubs of Ibiza and transport guests to the Mediterranean party island with a few simple tricks that can be re-created at home.

Firstly, the drinks menu combines classic cocktails with more unusual combinations. Many are using lockdown as an opportunity to clean out those bottles at the back of the drinks' cupboard, picked up from previous travels, which can add a punch to your usual aperitif. Try adding half a shot of the more unusual tipple to a basic spirit or liquor such as gin, rum, vodka or brandy. Add a mixer from the fridge, such as tonic water, lime juice, sparkling water or juice, and then finish with a garnish of lemon, lime or orange. We recommend adding a sugar cube or cream of coconut if required to taste.

Secondly, create an exclusive Ibizan ambience with chill-out sunset beats – Helios features live acoustic sets and chilled DJ sessions, but there are many Spotify playlists that have a similar soundtrack.

To complete the Mediterranean look, Helios Beach Clubs have a décor of turquoise contrasting against a white-washed background with fresh white linens softly blowing in the sea breeze. At home, hang a white sheet from an open window or re-create a gentle wind from a fan for similar effect.

LATE NIGHT DINNER LIKE A ROCKSTAR: Indulge on high-end tapas among a fashionista crowd

Oozing eclectic charm and the lively buzz of a late-night restaurant, TATEL Ibiza at Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza is one of the island's hotspots amongst its most discerning fashionista crowd.

The restaurant serves stylish Spanish cuisine in the form of high-end tapas that is so much more than a bowl of olives and a plate of ham that we might think of at home. Yet, a few simple tricks can be used to re-create the tasty small dishes that so many enjoy on holiday in our own kitchens. Key store cupboard ingredients such as good quality extra virgin olive oil, garlic, smoked paprika, almonds and sea salt can add an extra oomph to traditional Spanish cuisine.

Spiced nuts are a simple yet tasty nibble, made by baking almonds in a hot oven until golden brown and then tossing them with a mix of olive oil, paprika, coriander, cayenne pepper and sea salt. For patatas bravas, fry diced potatoes, sprinkle over sea salt, pepper, paprika, fresh thyme and then top with a homemade garlic alioli made by whizzing together mayonnaise, three garlic cloves, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper.
