PALAIS de CHINE Hotel Taipei 9/16-9/21 The Big Three of Macau vs. Hong Kong Seafood Michelin Feast

LDC Hotels & Resorts Group

PALAIS de CHINE Hotel's le Palaise Chinese restaurant has invited many Michelin star Hong Kong restaurants such as Tim Ho Wan and Celebrity Cuisine, and hundred year old Hong Kong eateries such as Ser Won Fun, Kwan Kee, and Po Kee to Taiwan, since 2013. These well-known restaurants help us give our Taiwan consumers the most authentic Cantonese cuisine and have become popular with our customers. This year, the PALAIS de CHINE Hotel has extended its reach to Macau. Our PALAIS de CHINE professional dinning team visited numerous Macau eateries and proudly selected three Macau restaurants, Comida a Portuguese Carlos, Lei's Cuisine and Hang Heong Un, each with over half a century of history, to face off with the only Hong Kong seafood restaurant with a Michelin star, the Sing Kee Seafood Restaurant. From September 16–19, PALAIS de CHINE Hotel is proud to present dishes from four classic restaurants. Banquet prices start at NT$1,880+10% per person. From September 20~21 the chefs will move to the FLEUR DE CHINE at Sun Moon Lake which is expected to create another culinary wave.

In recent years the PALAIS de CHINE Hotel has actively invited Hong Kong Michelin restaurants to visit Taiwan for a cook-off exchange. Last year, authentic hundred year old Hong Kong eateries were also invited so that Taiwan consumers can have the opportunity to try authentic Cantonese cuisine from the highest priced to the most affordable. A few of the cooperating restaurants that received good marks from customers are now entering the Taiwanese market. This proves once again that the PALAIS de CHINE dining team has made great choices. This year's activity in September invited Comida a Portuguese Carlos, Lei's Cuisine and Hang Heong Un from Macau. All three restaurants have over half a century's history and are traditional restaurants ran by second-generation owners. Also invited is Hong Kong's only Michelin star seafood restaurant, the Sing Kee Seafood Restaurant. We hope that with this activity, consumers can understand Hong Kong and Macau food culture in-depth.

This Hong Kong and Macau food activity invited four restaurants, each specializing in different types of food. Lei's Cuisine is a unique eatery, Comida a Portuguese Carlos offers Portuguese cuisine, Hong Kong's Sing Kee is a seafood restaurant and Hang Heong Un is a master of dessert. These are all Hong Kong and Macau tastes that gourmets must try. Lei's Cuisine is the midnight eatery of the Macau people and opens for business from 6 pm to 5 am. Lei's Cuisine provides numerous tasty snacks, and for this event, brings three unique foods loved by local Macau people. Of these three, potted and peppered pig's stomach and chicken feet which is a rich soup rich in collagen, and is an authentic potted food rarely seen in Taiwan. Comida a Portuguese Carlos is the only foreign cuisine in this activity and their dishes, from appetizers to desserts, present an eight course Portuguese meal that combines traditional ingredients with modern techniques. The crispy and juicy suckling pig with rice is made differently from the Chinese style suckling pig and is loved by gourmets. Hang Heong Un brings to this event their eight signature dessert soups, one of which is the almond milk that has been a favorite since they opened in 1965. The restaurant does not use ready-to-use almonds. Rather, they use the most traditional methods and hand-pick and grind fresh almonds to make their rich and smooth almond milk on-site. Sing Kee Seafood Restaurant is the only Hong Kong seafood restaurant with a Michelin star. For this event the restaurant presents their salt and pepper abalone that has been praised in the in the Michelin Guide. The chef must be skillful in frying to keep the abalone tender while giving it a crispy exterior.
