Painting or Cooking in Italy?

Painting in Italy

The problem with many 'learning' holidays is that often we have a different interest or 'hobby' to our partner but a new series of one-week courses by niche specialist, Painting in Italy, based in the idyllic Saragano in Umbria,  appears to have solved this problem by offering participants the option of either improving their painting skills or culinary prowess.

Painting tuition for all levels of ability will be available with tutor, Sarah Miatt - who specialises in the Umbrian landscape and its people -  and will teach in oils, chalk pastels, watercolour and, pen and ink.  Meanwhile Contessa Amalija, chef at the handsome former family hunting lodge, La Ghirlanda, will teach the art of making hand-made pasta and a variety of Umbrian sauces as well as showing different ways to cook meat and vegetables and creating masterful cakes.

The one-week courses commence June 14 and September 6 and costs £1599 pp (no single supplement) and includes airport transfers, tuition, accommodation at Hotel La Ghirlanda, 7 dinners with wine, 5 lunches with wine, excursions and wine tasting. Other painting courses are available in Venice, Florence, Tuscany and Umbria.  Further information Painting in Italy (Freephone 08081185729, paintinginitaly.com)
