P!NK Gets the Party Started at Madame Tussauds Sydney to Celebrate With Her Australian Fans

Madame Tussauds Sydney

Madame Tussauds Sydney has hosted an exclusive party to celebrate the arrival of the wax figure of one of Aussie's most favourite artists, P!NK. A pink carpet, jugglers, clowns and hoola hoopers, together with her fans from all over NSW, turned the attraction at Darling Harbour into a funhouse to welcome the US mega star's figure.

“This is the first time we have ever thrown a party for the arrival of a wax figure, but for someone like P!NK, who is so popular in Australia we needed to do something special for her fans,” said Quinn Clarke, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Sydney.

The highlight of the party was the unveiling of P!NK's amazingly lifelike wax figure which has a show-stopping position in the attraction, suspended from the ceiling in a way that recreates her acrobatic stage performances.

The 'Trouble' singer, real name Alecia Moore, has been styled with her signature platinum quiff and sequinned black hotpants, braces and simple white t-shirt all teamed with skyscraper heels. The figure is captured mid-performance, finger pointing in the air and a microphone near her lips, allowing visitors to feel as they've stepped into one of her spectacular stage shows.

“As P!NK is so popular all over Australia we decided to take her wax figure on as a permanent addition to our attraction. We are very lucky to make her fans happy by giving them the chance to get up closeand personal with the iconic world star,” added Mr Clarke.

Using hundreds of photos and detailed measurements of P!NK, 60 of Madame Tussauds most talented artists spent over 800 hours creating the wax figure. Every aspect was meticulously constructed, right down to the placement of each individual strand of hair on the figure's heads – a process that takes up to 6 weeks.

The figure will be joining an iconic cast of female performers including Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Kylie Minogue.
