Over 150 Industry Professionals Attend the Second Annual TravMedia Summit in Macao

TravMedia (Asia)

This week, TravMedia celebrated the second annual TravMedia Summit, a professional development seminar that brought together Asia's leading and most influential members of the tourism industry for a high impact program held at The Parisian Macao.

The half-day conference played host to an unrivalled line up of speakers that addressed thought-provoking topics and issues that impact the travel industry in this time of rapidly changing landscapes.

Nick Wayland, TravMedia's CEO and Founder, said: “Our aim in launching the TravMedia Summit in Asia was to create a platform to share ideas, learn from leaders and each other, and be inspired to improve communications within the travel industry.

We want to upskill the market by sharing the collective knowledge of our TravMedia industry leaders and the wider community.

We've worked hard to bring together the expert panel, with key speakers such as Barry Neild of CNN Travel, Tara Loader Wilkinson of Billionaire, Benoit Badufle of the Monaco Government Tourism Office and many others.”

The program featured a series of intensive sessions covering topics such as; the Changing Media Landscape, Metrics to Measuring Successful PR, Effective Pitch Tactics, Media Authenticity, Sustainable Tourism and much more.

Nicolette Mewing, TravMedia's Regional Director, said: “We learnt from last year's inaugural event that travel professionals value the opportunity to discuss and learn how to stay current as the tourism industry evolves, so our media panelists are enthusiastic to deliver insightful topics.”

The Summit was held at The Parisian Macao over a four-hour period, followed by an evening networking session Poolside at The Parisian Macao for delegates to come together and discuss the day's learnings and forge stronger relationships with like-minded industry professionals.

Delegate's key takeaways included; the importance of reader authenticity, how to promote sustainable tourism trends, working effectively to plan press trips that deliver, delivering successful campaigns with new media, how to measure PR beyond AVE and much more.

The sessions were delivered by top-tier media and expert publicists in their field from travel and tourism brands including Donna Campbell of Sands China Ltd, Gaynor Reid of AccorHotels, Pearl Yan of Hong Kong Tatler and Barry Neild of CNN Travel. The networking session post-event allowed attendees to meet these influential media and find out how to collaborate more effectively to create a stronger return from visiting media programs.
