In the Winter issue of Out & About with Kids, check out the 2017/2018 northern hemisphere ski season, and seek out the best wildlife experiences in Australia and around the world.
Winter… a time of year we're all so cold we're either inspired to either book a tropical holiday, or book a trip somewhere we can at least have fun in the cold. According to new research by Club Med, more and more Aussie families are choosing to ski overseas. No surprise then, that lots of mountain resorts around the world are catching on to this trend and adding to their kid-friendly attractions. They're adding to their beginner terrain, expanding kids clubs and ski schools, and adding more off-piste activities including dog sledding, tubing and fat biking.
Also in this issue, we go in search of Australia's best family-friendly wildlife experiences, where to cuddle a wombat or a joey, play with meerkats, swim with turtles and take a selfie with a quokka. We visit zoos all over the country ad new contributor Flip Byrnes takes her young cubs for a sleepover at Dubbo Zoo.
In Family Traveller, our contributors go in search of orangutans in Sumatra, find happiness on Malolo Island Resort in Fiji and explore Victoria's Gippsland coast.
We also take a look at family favourites Coffs Harbour, Canberra and the Sunshine Coast, and find seven awesome reasons to take the kids to Macao.
Toddler specialist Sue White finds out all about Fiji's famous Meimeis (nannies), Luxury travel specialist Monique Von Tulder recommend's the world's best walking tours, accessible expert Julie Jones finds the Coffs Coast surprisingly accessible and Yumi Stynes shares her tips for a family trip to growers' markets.
