Angela Saurine has been appointed editor of Out & About With Kids, beginning with the winter issue 2019 of the quarterly family travel magazine.
A Sydney-based Mum of one, Angela is an award-winning travel writer and editor. She was national travel reporter for News Corp Australia from 2009 to 2013, working primarily on Escape, before leaving to pursue a freelance career. Since that time has written for publications including The Weekend Australian's Travel & Indulgence, The Weekend Australian Magazine, Traveller.com.au, News.com.au, Mamamia, Woman's Day, Virgin Australia's inflight magazine Voyeur, Jetstar and MiNDFOOD. She is also editor of the annual Discover Hawai'i, Luxury Hawai'i and Family Hawai'i guides published by Explore Media.
A passionate traveller, Angela has been to more than 50 countries. She is particularly passionate about eco-tourism, Indigenous tourism and adventure travel, which will be reflected in the magazine's content.
Angela said she was thrilled to take on the role. “I have fond memories of travel from my own childhood – from road trips up and down the coast and annual snow holidays to my first time on a plane,” she said. “Since becoming a Mum I have realised more than ever the importance of travel as an educational tool, and I look forward to inspiring Australian families to get out and about, as the title of the magazine suggests, with our stories.”
Owned and published by Elisa Elwin, Out & About with Kids marks its 14th year of publication in 2019. More than 400,000 copies of the digital magazine are emailed direct to qualified databases, with 20,000 copies of the print edition distributed to newsagencies, subscribers, various business and first-class lounges (including Qantas and Etihad), as well as selected family-friendly hotels and resorts. Its digital footprint incorporates its website www.outandaboutwithkids.com.au, newsletters and social media channels including Facebook and Instagram.
The winter issue of the magazine will feature stories about family travel experiences around Australia, as well as favourite international destinations including Fiji, Hawai'i and Thailand. It will also feature hotel reviews, travel tips and interviews with industry insiders.
