Born and raised in the Wellington, Hutt Valley area of New Zealand, Graeme Guy will be exhibiting his nature photography at the G Art Gallery, G Hotel from 1st May till 28th June 2013.

Graeme – a retired Professor and Principal Investigator has decided to move to Penang in year 2011, where the tropical environment provides plenty of photographic subjects. Nature photography has always been an interest since his high school days which he had only taken up seriously in the last 15 years. Graeme has won over 1200 awards in International exhibitions as well as 30 cover pictures and a number of published articles and images.

Graeme Guy started out as a pharmacist in Dunedin, Napier and Hamilton after obtaining a degree in pharmacy. He later obtained a BSc and MSc(Hons) from Waikato University in Hamilton before completing a PhD in Biochemistry in Adelaide, Australia in 1982. After 5 years in Birmingham, United Kingdom, he moved to Singapore where he was a Professor and Principal Investigator at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology from 1988 and is an author of over 100 scientific papers.

He is a founder of the Nature Photography Society of Singapore and is now a member of the Malaysian Nature Society. Graeme is keen to use his photography to demonstrate the beauty of nature and to inspire everyone to play their part in conserving natural resources and preserve all species for future generations to enjoy.

‘Our Natural Heritage’ Nature Print Exhibition portrays the beauty of nature with subjects from Kenya, Costa Rica, India, Australia and mainly Malaysia.

Graeme’s opening ceremony was hosted by G Hotel on Wednesday, 8th May 2013, 6pm at the G Art Gallery.
