ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando is well-known for offering visitors the opportunity to visit one-of-a-kind attractions, but the destination also gives visitors the chance to attend unique festivals and special events. APRIL

Florida Music Festival                                                                                                                                                                

April 24-26

Florida Music Festival is a multi-day celebration of up-and-coming musicians held in downtown Orlando. The festival lets fans experience live music, film, visual arts and the cultural community. The event welcomes more than 250 performers from alternative, pop, country, urban, hip hop and acoustic formats, along with hundreds of filmmakers and dozens of visual artists. Admission: Varies.   

12th Annual Orlando Cabaret Festival

Life is indeed a cabaret, at least for a few weeks during Mad Cow Theatre's celebration of musical theatre. Cabaret artists and acts are featured in more than 40 evening and lunchtime performances. Admission: $25- $55.

4th Annual Kidsfest

Held at Audubon Park, the event will encourage kids to participate in gardening, art, cooking demonstrations and more. Admission: Free, however some classes require a fee to participate.

The Great American Pie Festival

Enjoy endless samples of pies with close family and friends.  Held
in Celebration, the Pie Festival includes demonstrations, bake-offs, pie tastings and pie-eating contests. Admission: Free. Buffet tickets: $10.

SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa host this celebration of Hispanic music, food and culture. The event features the sights, sounds and tastes of various Latin cultures through music, dance, crafts, food and concerts. Admission: Included in regular park admission.

Wet n' Wild's new contemporary Christian Battle of the Bands music event features Christian rock bands, praise bands, singers, rappers and choirs compete for cash prizes.  Admission: Included in regular admission.

23rd Annual Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival

The oldest, non-juried festival in the United States, the Orlando International Fringe Festival is a celebration of theater, art and music. Fringe encompasses hundreds of shows, the Visual Fringe, outdoor concerts and “The Kids Fringe Tour.”  Events are held at various venues in and around downtown Orlando. True to Fringe roots, all acts remain uncensored, exposing patrons to performances from mild to wild.

Star Wars Weekends

Star Wars characters come to life at Disney's Hollywood Studios, where guests of all ages can come face-to-face with Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Queen Amidala as well as other favorite sci-fi characters from the famous film series. Star Wars Weekends are scheduled for four consecutive weekends. Admission: Included in regular park admission.

Junior Master Model Builder Competition

LEGOLAND Florida invites guests to participate in this fun and interactive LEGO® building competition that takes place quarterly. Participants build a model that follows the designated LEGO® theme for each competition. Winners receive special prizes and will be invited to build in the Ultimate Build Off at the end of the year. 6th Annual PLAYGROUND Arts & Music Festival

Held at Lakeridge Winery & Vineyards in Clermont, the event offers arts and crafts, live music, free tours, grape stomping, wine tasting and plenty of free parking. Food and beverages available for purchase. Admission: $2 donation to Hospice Foundation.

Kissimmee International Festival of Festivals                                                                        

June 21-23

The Kissimmee Festival of Festivals features hot air balloons from around the world, races, arts and crafts and music. More than 50 balloons will take to the Central Florida sky with mass ascensions throughout the festival. In addition to the breathtaking views, festival-goers can experience balloon, helicopter or World War II Warbird Airplane rides, skydiving exhibitions, 5k and 10k runs alongside the colorful balloon collection, festival fare, games and more.

SeaWorld Orlando Summer Nights

SeaWorld will be hosting its nighttime spectacular, Summer Nights. Guests will be able to enjoy extended park hours until 10 p.m. featuring incredible shows, an all-new attraction – Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin – thrilling coasters under the stars, and a nightly Shamu show that ends with a bang.

Central Florida Zoo's Birthday with the BIG Boys

Held at Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte, Red Hot & Boom is an Independence Day celebration that features live entertainment by XL106.7 Radio, children's activities, vendor booths, food, drinks and a 25-minute fireworks display, synchronized with a mix of patriotic and today's musical hits. “Disney's Celebrate America! - A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” at Magic Kingdom will start at 9 p.m. The holiday-inspired “IllumiNations: Reflections of the Earth” at Epcot will start at 10 p.m., and a special July 4th fireworks presentation at Disney's Hollywood Studios will start at 10 p.m. Admission: Included in regular park admission.

Celebration Town Center's “A Flashback 4th of July”

Revel freedom on July 4th at the Celebration Town Center's “A Flashback 4th of July” with unique fireworks and an event centered around “A Salute to Cinema,” beginning at 5:30 p.m. The event features a synchronized fireworks spectacular set to a movie theme, bounce houses for kids, live music and more. Guests who come dressed as their favorite movie character will be eligible for prizes. Free Park and Ride Shuttle will be available. Admission: Free.

A dazzling way to celebrate the 4th of July, LEGOLAND Florida presents their first Independence Day event. 3D glasses make ordinary fireworks turn into millions of fantastic exploding bricks. Admission: Included in regular park admission.

This annual free event includes a family friendly festival during the day and concludes with a choreographed firework show over Lake Baldwin. The festival features live entertainment, family activities, shopping, an art stroll and food and beverage.

This series has been an Independence Day weekend tradition for nearly five decades. Kevin Harvick will defend his title in the 160-lap, 400-mile holiday weekend classic that will feature fireworks on and off the track at Daytona International Speedway. Admission: Varies.

Visit Orlando's Magical Dining Month

Satisfy cravings for haute cuisine at an even hotter price during Visit Orlando's Magical Dining Month, a culinary celebration sure to please diner's palates and wallets. For an entire month, more than 60 of Central Florida's top restaurants will feature three-course, prix fixe dinner menus for just $33, with $1 from each meal donated to a local charity.

41st Annual Winter Park Autumn Art Festival

22nd Anniversary Biketoberfest

Biketoberfest in Daytona Beach is a rousing, fun-filled weekend that attracts more than 125,000 motorcycle enthusiasts from near and far. Activities include rides, concerts, food and much more. Admission: Free. 

Orlando International Dragon Boat Festival

Walt Disney World Resorthosts the Orlando International Dragon Boat Festival at Downtown Disney. This one-day regatta, attracting recreational and competitive teams from all over North America, will run from approximately 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. The festival also includes exhibitors, food concessions and a medal ceremony. Trick-or-treat in the wildest neighborhood in town at the Central Florida Zoo. This event is a fun and not-too-scary event for young and old alike. Children can wear costumes for trick-or-treat stations and face painting. Visitors can take a haunted hayride, visit the pumpkin patch for a fun photo and learn about the myths and realities of some misunderstood animals. 30th Annual Mount Dora Craft Fair

Gay Pride Festival and Parade – Come Out With Pride

A signature event of the Metropolitan Business Association, “Come Out With Pride” is Central Orlando's largest gay pride festival and parade. The festivities are held in downtown Orlando's Lake Eola Park, complete with entertainment and long parade route. Admission: Free.

Held at the Orange County Convention Center, the Orlando Home Show is Central Florida's leading and largest consumer showcase of new products and services for home remodeling and interior décor. The show features local, regional and national experts in remodeling, building, decorating and landscaping; instructional how-to seminars; giveaways; contests; and exhibits with the industry's latest products. Festival of Bacon

Orlando's annual Festival of Bacon will be held at Festival Park in Orlando. Attendees can sink their teeth into 30,000+ samples of bacon-inspired treats, prepared by 30+ Central Florida restaurants competing for the coveted "Best of Bacon" award. The event includes live music from various local artists, beer and bacon-inspired cocktails.

The event is considered one of the world's largest, most elaborate Halloween celebrations. Universal enlists a “scream team” of designers to research the human psyche and its deepest fears to create haunted houses and “scare zones” of terrifying magnitudes for guests.

On select nights, Howl-O-Scream transforms Busch Gardens Tampa Bay into a nightmare of inescapable fear that will overwhelm the senses with a new spin on horror. The OUC Half Marathon and 5K

As one of the southeast's top road race events, the OUC Half Marathon and 5K winds through scenic downtown Orlando and around beautiful Lake Eola alongside live local entertainment. Now in its 85th year of providing an organizational structure for youth football, Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. brings its Pop Warner Super Bowl and National Cheer & Dance Championships to Walt Disney World Resort. More than 60 teams from across the country compete in four age groups from 8-14 on the fields of the 220-acre (80-hectare) ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

This annual holiday celebration is based on the beloved Dr. Seuss tale and Universal Pictures' and Imagine Entertainment's Academy Award-winning blockbuster hit, “Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” Seuss Landing at Islands of Adventure is transformed and colorfully decorated for the season. Guests are invited to enjoy a live, musical stage show and meet the Grinch in his lair, which is outfitted with authentic movie props and gadgets. Admission: Included in regular park admission.

Macy's Holiday Parade at Universal Studios

The world's most famous parade has become a holiday experience for park guests at Universal Studios, featuring some of the most popular balloons and floats from the famous Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. The excitement and pageantry of the parade, complete with a festive tree lighting ceremony by Santa Claus himself, is exhibited each day of the holiday season through the New Year. The Nutcracker

The Orlando Ballet presents visions of the Sugarplum fairy, Cavelier, Snow King and much more as the company rings in the holiday season with its annual presentation of The Nutcracker. Hosted at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre, The Nutcracker is a favorite among ballet patrons and newcomers alike. The performance is kept true with classical elements and an infusion of Artistic Director Robert Hill's mix of choreography.

Russell Athletic Bowl

The Russell Athletic Bowl (formerly Champs Sports Bowl) features teams from the ACC & Big Ten conferences. The game's history extends for more than 15 years and attendance has increased steadily every year since. It is played in the Citrus Bowl in downtown Orlando. Admission: Tickets starting at $20.

All eyes will be on Orlando during the last week of December as Florida Citrus Sports presents its annual bowl week festival. Incorporating the Russell Athletic Bowl and the Capital One Bowl on New Year's Day, this week will feature more than 100,000 fans flocking to Central Florida for football, festivities and fun. In addition to outstanding action on the field, the festival includes the Orlando Citrus Parade and a concert in Lake Eola Park.

The Fresh From Florida Parade, held in downtown Orlando, features signature citrus floats made from more than 100,000 grapefruit, oranges and tangerines. There are more than 50 entries, including marching bands from across the country. The parade attracts more than60,000 spectators and an international audience of millions through its television syndication in the United States and Canada in 150 markets. Admission: Free.

Guests are invited to come see LEGOLAND Florida's 270,000 brick Christmas tree and festive decorations. Santa is slated to make daily appearances in the park. Admission: Included in regular park admission.

Universal CityWalk, a 30-acre (121,406-square-meter) entertainment complex with themed restaurants, nightclubs and shops, hosts one of Orlando's hottest New Year's Eve parties. The evening features live performances by national acts, an expansive gourmet buffet, a champagne toast and live entertainment at its nightclubs, including the groove, an electrifying dance club; CityJazz, a hip jazz venue; Jimmy Buffett's Magaritaville and others.

New Year's Eve at the Walt Disney World Resort

The parks come alive to say farewell to 2014. Epcot celebrates the New Year "around the world" with DJs and evening dance parties located throughout World Showcase and lasting late into the evening, as well as a special presentation of the "Illuminations: Reflections of Earth" lights, lasers and fireworks display. Disney's Hollywood Studios celebrates New Year's Eve not only with multiple presentations of "Fantasmic!" a spectacular of Disney movies and music, but also with a special "Lights! Camera! Happy New Year!" fireworks spectacular, as well as a DJ dance party around the Sorcerer Hat Stage. Magic Kingdom features special presentations of the Main Street Electrical Parade and multiple nighttime fireworks displays. Admission: Theme park events are included in regular park admission.

New Year's Eve at SeaWorld Orlando

Celebrate the countdown to 2015 with live music and fireworks at The Waterfront, where guests can also enjoy shopping, dining and entertainment venues. At the stroke of midnight, the Orlando sky will radiate with brilliant fireworks that light up the night. Admission: Included in regular park admission.

Kid's New Year's Eve

Watch the giant LEGO® brick drop ad LEGOLAND Florida rings in the New Year. Made especially for kids, this event begins at 6 p.m. and will also include fireworks and a dance party DJ. Admission: Included in regular park admission.
