Foodies and festival fans will converge on Canberra this month, as the capital plays host to mouth-watering Good Food Month events and the Enlighten Night Noodle Markets.
The table is set for The Canberra Times Good Food Month presented by Citi, which is shining a light on Canberra's food and wine scene throughout March with more than 30 events, month-long specials, and dining and drinking extravaganzas.
Some of the unmissable events include a Korean snack party with Sydney's Moon Park boys at Temporada on March 7, Matt Moran's 'celebration of the seasons' garden party at Pialligo Estate on March 13, and the McConnell brothers' lunchtime feast at Monster Kitchen and Bar on March 27.
Canberra Good Food Month Creative Director Myffy Rigby said there really was no better time of the year to join the feast.
“This year's line-up really is a festival of treats for the stomach and the senses with everything from bespoke fine dining events, to one-off lunches and dinners throughout the city, not to mention the Enlighten Night Noodle Markets,” she said.
A highlight of the month-long program will no doubt be the Enlighten Night Noodle Markets, which returns to Canberra for the second year on Friday 4 March.
The highly-anticipated event forms part of the sixth annual Enlighten festival, offering authentic Asian eats in the heart of the Parliamentary Triangle each evening until Sunday 13 March.
This year's event features more than 25 stalls, including 10 local restaurants such as Lilotang, Chairman & Yip, Soi Noodle Bar and Kimiachi Tei.
In an exciting development, Black Star Pastry and N2 Extreme Gelato have also joined the line-up, bringing their impressive dessert collaborations to Canberra.
VisitCanberra Director Ian Hill said March was the perfect time for foodies to book a trip to the nation's capital.
“Our amazing food and wine scene combined with an exciting calendar of events, a huge range of outdoor activities and our family-friendly cultural attractions make Canberra the perfect short-break destination,” Mr Hill said.
