17 Feb 2006
NCL's annual cruise sale extravaganza Sale of all Sails has gone from strength to strength, with the 2006 event proving even more successful than last year's. Offering free upgrades, on-board credit and extra cash savings for guests, NCL really has made it easier than ever for agents to sell these cruises.
And the fun isn't over yet... Travel agents across the country have until 28 February to take advantage of these great offers from NCL, so now is the time to act and bag a great deal for both their customers and themselves.
Francis Riley, General Manager of NCL UK, commented, "Last year we were delighted with the results, but this year has exceeded all expectations. We have tried to make it even easier and more rewarding for agents to sell our cruises and together we have succeeded in driving bookings up by over 30% on this time last year."
This increase in sales has been put down to the unique product offering from NCL. With brand new state of the art ships and a diverse and exciting programme of itineraries, NCL has ensured that travel agents who chose to sell its product have the best options in cruising holidays available to their customers and the best returns on commission for themselves.
The 2006 figures have also been influenced by the inclusion of NCL's fifth brand new ship in as many years, Pride of Hawaii, due to be launched in April 2006, in the Sale of all Sails with an up to seven-category cabin upgrade on all sailings sold during this campaign. In addition to this, at a time when commission in the travel industry has been under scrutiny, NCL has bucked the trend by offering an extra 1% to those agents who booked cruises through Amadeus Cruise as well as rewarding them through the trade incentive scheme agentpoints.com
Riley concludes, "This has been a fantastic start to another exciting year, with the launch of Pride of Hawaii, the third ship to join the NCL America fleet in Hawaii, and the return of Norwegian Jewel and Norwegian Dream to the Mediterranean and the Baltic. Business is currently ahead of plan and we are looking forward to working with travel agents to make 2006 an even bigger and better year. With new itineraries, new ships and opportunities for greater earnings, it isn't surprising that this year's Sale of all Sails has been so successful. "
