Okavango Last-Minute Special From Screen To Stream

African Safari Roots

9 nights in the Delta, privately-guided mobile tented safari: from 1,450. Take your inspiration from Planet Earth and go and see it for yourself

See it and go! More and more of us are booking holidays on spontaneous inspiration. What used to take us deliberation now happens in hours or minutes, especially with scarce availability in top wildlife areas. With this in mind and following a rash of interest after the first showing of BBCs Planet Earth Pole to Pole last Sunday, African Safari Roots Ltd has put together a last-minute trip to the Okavango Delta. This leaves in June and July in time to catch the best of the rising waters and wildlife migration. In Pole to Pole the latest technology and aerial photography is used to track the mass migrations, following prey and predators on truly epic journeys. From Screen to Stream gets you right up close and personal to experience the drama of these journeys first hand. The trip will cover many of the areas shown on the BBC programme which is repeated on Saturday 11th March at 6.30pm on BBC2. bbc.co.uk You can expect to see antelope (such as the red lechwe shown captured here by Rob McDowell), predators such as lion, leopard and cheetah, elephant, buffalo and the rare wild dog as well as amazing birdlife and of course the lush beauty and diversity of Northern Botswana. Game-viewing is really varied from 4x4 game drives day and night, privately punted mekoro trips to boating or walking. Suddenly everyones calling about Botswana, says owner, Rob McDowell. Its one of the most amazing regions in Africa but is often a high cost destination as the luxury lodges like Mombo, featured on TV, show. And now theres almost no availability in the coming months, due to the exposure. We hope this more affordable mobile tented trip with Botswana's Game Trails will mean that more of those who loved the programme can get out to see it in person. The Okavango From Screen to Stream trip costs from 1,450 per person sharing for nine nights from Maun to Kasane, excluding international flights (circa 850). It includes a private guide for a small group, all meals, drinks and transfers. Accommodation is in comfortable fully catered tents, with beds and modern comforts. Guests can also add on a few nights to see Victoria Falls. Photography: please contact us as below for high resolution images.
