Visit Milwaukee

Whether it is haunted hotel stays, spooky family fun, or freaky delicious food, Milwaukee offers a terrifyingly-good time this Halloween season.

Spooky Sleep with the Supernatural:

  • A stay at Brumder Mansion Bed & Breakfast is not one for the faint-hearted, where spirits of former boardinghouse residents, mobsters and musicians hang around the 100-year-old corridors. These characters aren't afraid to make their presence known, rumored to cause guests to have unusually vivid dreams.
  • "Treat" yourself to a night at the historic Pfister Hotel where visions have been reported of founder, Charles Pfister, greeting guests in the grandiose elegant hallways.

Thrills & Chills with Tours, Treats, Taverns and more:

  • To reach your quota of coffins and corpses this Halloween, visit Forest Home Cemetery, and tour the resting place of some of Milwaukee's most-famous spirits including the eternal homes of beer barons Pabst, Blatz and Schlitz.
  • If you want to get your heart beating this month, head out to The Rock for The Hills Have Eyes, the most haunted hill event in freaky Franklin, Wis. Experience two haunted trails, one thrill ride on the run-down "Scare Lift," and Wisconsin's first ever 3-D Zombie Maze. These events will be held on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through Oct. 26.
  • Get into a spooky, spirited mood with Untapped Tour's haunted pub crawl. Tours are held Friday and Saturday nights through Nov. 26. Pub stops include Horny Goat Hideaway, Great Lakes Distillery and Shaker's.
  • Take a Milwaukee Ghost Tour through the "Bloody Third," now known as Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward district. This one-mile walking tour introduces the haunted history, ghost stories and tales of true crime of the area, running through the end of October on Friday and Saturday nights at 7 p.m.
  • Only the brave can face disembodied spirits, dark chambers, long spooky hallways, monsters, ghosts, and zombies at Milwaukee's favorite haunted house during Hauntfest at the Wisconsin State Fairgrounds Oct. 11 - Nov. 2.

Family-Friendly Fright:

  • Little monsters will love the Milwaukee County Zoo's family-oriented Halloween Trick-or-Treat Spooktacular, happening Friday, Oct. 26 from 6 - 9 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 27, from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
  • Young ghosts and goblins get ready for Betty Brinn Children's Museum's Not-So-Scary Halloween running Oct. 24 - 26. Celebrate the fall season indoors with fun Halloween activities specifically created for young children. Enjoy tricks and treats, craft stations, a spooktacular scavenger hunt, and interactive story time!
  • Enter into the Enchanted Forest for an educational and entertaining 45-minute, slightly spooky trek along a jack-o-lantern lit trail. After the hike enjoy indoor activities and refreshments at the Halloween Haunts at Wehr Nature Center Oct. 17 - 19 at 6:30 p.m.
